"The clamoring about Aristide serves as a diversion away from the homosexual marriage issue, and as a means to fire up black voters for the upcoming election due to the perceived racism of the Republicans."Even this "diversion" is ill-thought-out by the Democrats.
After all, replacing Black Aristide with an all Black Haitian leadership is hardly the fodder of hysterical cries of "Racism."
President Bush can easily defuse such Democratic nonsense by *inviting* the new Black Haitian leadership to the White House for a photo op...at which point the American liberal Black leadership will be forced to either back the new Black Haitian leadership or to back out-of-power Aristide.

Aristide has issued a statement today that he is, in fact, still president of Haiti. We shall see where that takes him.
But one thing that is missed in all these stories is that the CBC was unable themselves to get Aristide to BEHAVE and act like a human being.
If they want to support this perverted murderer, let them. It bodes ill for them.
I love the White House photo op suggestion though!

From today's "Letters" section of The Dallas Morning News:
Thank you for the opportunity to comment regarding the possibility of voting and thereby expressing my opinion about gay marriages. I would love to be able to vote on this issue.
As an African-American over 50 years old, I am well aware of the powerlessness of having my rights ignored or abused or my heartfelt opinions disregarded. It is highly prejudicial for those who support gay marriage to cut off, and totally attempt to disenfranchise, those of us who do not agree with them.
If you support gay marriage, why not put this legitimate issue before the people, whom you claim to support and honor, and let the majority of the voting citizens decide for ourselves.
Dorothy Brooks, Garland
