JACKSON, Miss. -- During a campaign swing through Mississippi yesterday, Senator John F. Kerry excoriated President Bush from the lectern of a black church, insisted that New England has much in common with the Deep South, and decried the "crucifixion" of the young gay man Matthew Shepard as he compared civil rights for blacks to gay and lesbian rights.

in Kerry's words, "the biggest track record of broken promises in history in all the time I've been in public life."

List them and defend them as broken promises John Kerry!

In his own words.:

A Record of Working on Behalf of Gay and Lesbian Americans

With a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign since 1995, John Kerry is a powerful voice in the ongoing fight for civil rights for gay and lesbian Americans.

Priorities

Preventing Hate Crimes
John Kerry is an original cosponsor of the Hate Crimes Prevention bill, which would extend federal jurisdiction over serious, violent hate crimes. These would include crimes motivated by sexual orientation. Hate crimes rose a disturbing 3.5% from 1999 to 2000.

Ending Discrimination
One of John Kerry’s first acts as a U.S. Senator, in 1985, was to introduce a bill prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.  He supports passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and has adopted a nondiscrimination policy for his Congressional offices based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

HIV/AIDS Funding
John Kerry cosponsored the first Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act (CARE) - which represents the largest discretionary federal investment in treating individuals with HIV and AIDS.  Kerry also sponsored the Vaccines for the New Millennium Act, aimed at boosting contributions to the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, a non-profit group working to promote development of an HIV vaccine in 2000.  Kerry introduced the U.S. Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria Act, which would increase the U.S. government’s funding of international HIV/AIDS efforts from approximately $1.7 billion in 2003 to $1.9 billion in 2004. This effort led to the unanimous passage in May 2003 the United States Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria Act of 2003. AIDS activists characterized Kerry as one of Congress’s top leaders on HIV/AIDS policy.

Protecting Gay and Lesbian Families
John Kerry believes that same-sex couples should be granted rights, including access to pensions, health insurance, family medical leave, bereavement leave, hospital visitation, survivor benefits, and other basic legal protections that all families and children need.  He has supported legislation to provide domestic partners of federal employees the benefits available to spouses of federal employees.  He was one of 14 Senators -- and the only one up for reelection in 1996 -- to oppose the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

Lifting the Ban on Gays in the Military
John Kerry opposed the Clinton Administration’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policy”  He was one of a few senators to testify before the Senate Armed Services Committee and call on the President to rescind the ban on gay and lesbian service members.

Support for Civil Unions
John Kerry supports same-sex civil unions so that gay couples can benefit from the health benefits, inheritance rights, or Social Security survivor benefits guaranteed for heterosexual couples.

John Kerry finds THIS offensive:

H.J. Res. 56 and S.J. Res. 26
Amendment Text:

Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman.
Neither this Constitution or the constitution of any State, nor state or federal law,
shall be construed to require that marital status or the legal incidents thereof be conferred
upon unmarried couples or groups

The American black/homosexual comparison again. They need to give that nonsense a rest. But I know they won't.

***PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The sister of James Byrd Jr. graphically recounted his 1998 murder behind a pickup truck in Texas as she campaigned with Al Gore Sunday and charged that Texas GOP Gov. George W. Bush ''did nothing'' to help her family.

....Following Byrd's death, there was a clamor in 1999 to toughen Texas hate-crimes law. The debate grew rancorous as some lawmakers sought to extend hate-crimes protections to homosexuals. Saying ''all crime is hate crime,'' Bush declined to intervene. The bill died. ***Source

***On Friday’s World News Tonight, ABC’s Aaron Brown admitted that on the "Daisy II" ad: "We’ve been able to confirm only four stations that have actually run the ad at a cost of about a thousand dollars. Nevertheless, the ad has received extraordinary attention." Attention the networks decided to give it while continuing to ignore the ad produced by the NAACP, a group closely aligned with the DNC, which features James Byrd’s daughter claiming of Bush’s opposition to a hate crimes bill: "It was like my father was killed all over again."***Media Research Center

Item # 1. HOW on earth can blacks accept an equivalency between their historical experience and the existence of this large cult of sexual perverts?

Item #2. HOW can black churches get away with maintaining there tax free status while serving as a pulpit for leftist politicians?

"I don't agree with the hollowness, nor do you, that tries to divide black and white, rich and poor, Massachusetts and Mississippi. In fact, some people just want us pointing fingers at each other. The reason they do that is that so no one points a finger at them."

This is LIBERALISM'S MO.

While invoking God at various turns yesterday -- at one point saying he had been "anointed the next president of the United States" after Bishop Phillip Coleman laid hands on him -- Kerry also cited the Bible and the US Constitution in defending the rights of gays and lesbians during a boisterous town hall forum after the church services.

The man is cracked!!!!

I can't believe how blind all these people are at this church, I mean, here he is in a church saying that scriptures protects homosexuals when in fact it says that homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. The word abomination meaning outrage, disgrace, scandal, atrocity, eyesore, hatred, repugnance, dislike. This is the same Bible that this church uses, what hypocrisy to cheer this man for making these statements. And to equate homosexuality with their civil movements is absurd, the Bible doesn’t call wanting equality sin, it does call homosexuality sin. I say to this church of hypocrisy, read it in your Bible, it’s there.

It doesn't matter to black activists. They believe (or want others to believe because they can wield power through hate mongering) that there hasn't been enough pay-back for slavery. So this kind of attack on Bush appeals to them. The follow piece is very instructive.

The End of Blackness - Frontpage Interview's guest today is Debra Dickerson, the author of the prize-winning memoir An American Story and of the new book The End of Blackness. Educated at the University of Maryland, St. Mary's University, and Harvard Law School, Ms. Dickerson has been both a senior editor and a contributing editor at U.S. News & World Report and a columnist at Beliefnet.

*** ……… I'm just so tired of being black in that way, that way which can only understand itself as the people who are oppressed by white people. The people who condone murder as long as it annoys whites. The people whose morality is situation specific if there's a way to get back at whites by forgetting our home training.

……….So, combining old fashioned virtue for its own sake with Post-Movement opportunity was my recipe for success. So many poor blacks are missing the first component, they can't make use of the second.

………. Why keep reliving your worst nightmare over and over again? They're still focused on the obstacles, not the opportunities because they 're still focused on making white people 'fess up and apologize. They act as if its still 1954 instead of 2004. They're old dogs who can't learn new tricks, even the young ones who hew to old school racial discontent.

…… Also, we have to learn to believe in our own efforts again. We have to act as though we truly believe we don't need anyone to ride to our rescue.

………. Reading the newspapers while trying to move beyond the tropes of a stultified racial discourse, was maddening. Even as I was trying to abandon my post in black America's war with white America, I was constantly being brought up short by thinly veiled racism and just plain bs all around me. ***

Ive brought this up at Union Meetings and a few other gathering places frequented by my black brethren trying to get them to grasp the insult to there struggle this comparison creates.....most don't care or don't get it.....

Homosexuality is not a race or sex it is an condition and an abnormal one at that.

Exactly. It is an act. I wonder if John Kerry would appreciate it if people associated his children or mother with anal sex.

Kerry actually says Byrd was a homo and was killed because of it just like Shepard. And then he calls Byrd 'King'? What a tool! Did I read it wrong?!

There are two points that I would like to make.
1) What ever happened to the separation of church and state? It appears to me that Kerry is using the church for political purposes. I know they all do it....but, I don't hear the same voices out there that I would hear if this were GWB.
2) Did I read that correctly? Kerry is saying that he has been 'annointed' the next prez of the US. I reread that statement a dozen times and it appears that is exactly what he said...."after the laying of hands".
Please correct me if I'm worng.
