JACKSON, Miss. - John Kerry on Sunday accused President Bush of "stonewalling" separate inquiries into the events leading up to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists attacks, as well as into the intelligence that suggested Saddam Hussein was hiding weapons of Mass Destruction
Kerry, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, endorsed complaints by some members of a federal commission investigating the attacks that Bush was resisting their efforts to get documents and question witnesses.
"Why is this administration stonewalling and resisting the investigation into what happened and why we had the greatest security failure in the history of our country?" Kerry said at a hastily arranged news conference.
"The American people deserve an answer now," Kerry said. "The immediate instinct of the Republicans and this administration was to shut it down."

Yes - it shows that he has either the same operatives, or operatives as skilled as Clinton's propaganda artists. While I do not think that even they can rescue Kerry - Bush Cheney '04 better hone their communication edge. Step #1 in that process is get rid of the current White House spokesman - he's miserable. Bring back Ari Fleischer!

Amendment XIV
1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Ah, the "stonewalling" word. Now, where did I recentloy hear that? Oh, yes - the two "non-biased 9/11 vitim family members." Rush's show on Fridday with clips of these two RAT women attacking the president (under guise of being "hurt" by the ad) with exactly the same 3 talking points was priceless. The rats oppose the war, the American people don't and so they want to take the issue off the table. hehehe Fugedaboutit RATS!

The President had been in office just short of eight months when 9/11 took place. His people were hardly confirmed and in place when the towers came down. The planning and preperations by the terrorists took place on Mr. Clinton's watch. The prior administration had plenty of warning with the 1993 WTC attack,the East African attacks and the USS Cole attack. They did little to respond other than hit some empty terror camps and a African factory that made asprin and not bio/chem weapons. Heck the Clinton people could have had bin Laden but worried about legal considerations and turned Sudan's offer down (Point: Never let trained lawyers run a war). The Bush people came into office with odd warning about attacks that could happen anywhere and at any time. Not much to go on. Then 9/11 happened and the Bush Adminstration took the war to the enemies and make them pay. Now this man who aided a prior foe is making statements that call into question this President's action. I say that he should be careful what they wish for because what will be discovered might not be to his liking. Kerry is another one with a lawyer training, while President Bush with his business training knows how to handle a terrorist, not with legal considerations but with force and power and a will to win that Clinton and those like him (Kerry) can never understand. Everyone, remember the memo... the Rockefeller memo? The Democrats on the 9/11 investigation have already been exposed in the act of conspiring to use it for political purposes, to attack Bush, thereby committing the unpardonable sin of sacrificing national security for political gain. None other than Zell Miller (D) of Georgia compared their actions to treason. Kerry needs to have his nose and entire head rubbed in this, so... call ALL the Talk show Radio hosts, and point this out, AGAIN AND AGAIN! Hannity should revisit this, since the memo was originally leaked to him! Good luck everyone!

The answer is .. they aren't - and the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Committee have openly said that the President is not stonewalling.
Mary Matalin was on MTP and she said the same thing.
