It's funny but unfair of course. Kerry never pretended he was not rich, or that his wife has not mega rich. America has a long tradition of electing rich "liberals." We had Jefferson, Madison, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, JFK, and LBJ. Carter was modestly rich. Indeed these days, few politicians in high office are not either rich (5 plus million net worth), or modestly rich (over 1 million net worth).

By the way, a professor from Georgia state university was on NPR about his recent study tracking the individual stock trades of senators. Amazingly, they do ever better than corporate insiders as a group with stock trades. They seem to be trading on insider information big time. As a general rule, when they buy stocks, they generally take off almost immediately, and when they sell, the stocks flatten out. Their annualized return is 12% higher than the market as a whole, which frankly isn't statistically possible for such a "large" sample, without the dice being loaded. Ain't that special? Time to get AG Spitzer on the case.

That is still part of "moveon.org"

They have pictures of all 500 soldiers that died.

These evil ingrates are the ones that use the sacrifice of our patriots to save us from having Combat on US soil protecting the families of these Soldiers loves one!

Moveon.org robs the work of good and use it for their advancement!

Thanks so much for posting this. I watched this in real time and could not believe it !!

Yesterday, I looked all over C-Span for video, audio or transcript, and could find nothing. I know they don't post right away.

At the end, they had a question/answer period. A man said with all that Bush has done, according to what Kennedy stated, he should be brought up on charges. At that point, Kennedy hemmed and hawed and said " November will take care of it "

I sure wish every American could have watched this or read the transcript word for word. Pres. Bush NEEDS to do alot of talking to the people cause this is getting real ugly and there is a long way to go. They will stop at nothing, and will repeat and repeat, and no media will stop them, they will aid and abet them !

By the way, another NPR media critic thought the Bush ads were effective, and fair and positive, and that the fraction of the second image of the trade towers was fair comment, since it was a seminal moment in the Bush presidency. He thought the Dems were spinning and whining, and he made clear that he was not a Bush supporter. He also said, he suspected the positive ads would phase out soon, and the Bush media hammer would commence. Who was it who said NPR, really meant National Progressive Radio?

Totally disagree. Every other word out of Kerry and Kerry's surrogates switches between, Enron, Big Business and evil rich people.

This ad is right on point and will be effective with my blue collar compadres.

But that's OK, I still like ya.

As for the senators, it's no surprise to me. They go to Washington with X net worth and return home after Y years with 1000X net worth.

Put all the insider traders in a cell with Martha Stewart as far as I'm concerned.

FDR smashed mouthed rich people too; indeed in a much more "class conscious" way than Kerry is doing. Of course, class consciousness has been on the wane in America for a long time, in part due to other salient issues, and in part due to the fact, that the American dream is the universal solvent for the Marxist paradigm. In any event, the ad won't work, and Bush won't go there, and it won't persuade swing voters. JMO. :)

Bush has no choice on whether to go there or not. We, the people stillretain some First Amendment rights though they will be severely curtailed in crunch time.

And this is one of those times when we will have to agree to disagree.

Ha, you've never been banned, have you?

I've never been banned but I have been warned to clean up my act now and again.

Now when I first started my interest in politics and the Constitution I used to post on the NY Times Website.

Surprisingly , or not, the level of discourse was not what obne would expect from the paper of record. When they kicked me off I ended up here. And here I am.

Never even had a warning actually. Odd, for an advocate of gay marriage, the Clinton wars in the Balkans, the progessive income tax, and the social security ponzi scheme, topped off by being an avowed near atheist. It must just be that I am so loveable. :)

No, I don't think so. I think it is the fact that you were brought up right. You treat even the biggest shmucks respectfully.
