Nothing like passing off your hateful message as music.

I actually liked the song, until I saw the video with clips of W in it. So I went and found these lyrics, and it all makes perfect sense.

Found the lyrics on LeosLyrics.com

I might have gone for years without hearing of this "band".

I saw the video when it premiered, and it was disgraceful. I didnt have to pay close attention to the lyrics. It's just as blatant a Bush/Hitler comparison as the MoveOn ad.

For the life of me I still haven't seen what Dubya has done that has engendered such hatred from some quarters. Talking to them you'd think he was the devil incarnate.

Odd how W would be in agreement with them on the matter of him (W) not being Jesus. He never claimed to be. Where did these nincompoops get such an idea?

Nothing like passing off your hateful message as music.

It's okay. Y'see, whenever I see Hillary show up on the 'tube, I just crank up one of my favorite songs titled "Public Servant" (by Todd Rundgren) for full effect...

Chorus:
Public servant, public slave
It's one single slide from the cradle to the grave
Can't remember why you're still in the race
To be a public servant, public slave

You got to know who Satan is
You know you made him come alive
You let the yahoos write the script
When you sold your soul to survive
I only want to hear my voice
Come on, hit me where I live
Let's imagine we had a choice
Let's pretend we're persuasive

[Chorus]

I guess it keeps you off the street
I guess you couldn't find honest work
And you're content to follow the fleet
Hanging 'round with world-class jerks
I guess you can't have too little class
Sometimes it pays to have no soul
Just keep your mindset in the past
And your head up your a - - - - - -!

It's not as if we couldn't cope
It's not as if the Pope eloped
It's just as if you're out of hope
And if you can't stand twice as tall
If you're too afraid to fall
If you haven't got the--
Haven't got the balls
Cut 'em loose!

[Chorus]

Thankfully Incubus sucks, so avoiding their music won't be much of a burden. The only think memorable about them is that their lead singer looks like Keanu Reeves. Probably shares his depth of political insight as well.

I once saw Crosby, Stills, and Nash in concert and between songs Graham Nash came out with this idiotic rant against Reagan (this was in the '80s). Something about how Reagan didn't care about the homeless. He was roundly booed by the audience, which I thought was hilarious. He was so PO'd, I thought he was going to walk out.

Anybody who thinks those lyrics are good needs a brain transplant!!

Good grief - have we become so politically correct that we don't recognize CRAP when we hear it! I'm stunned!

Try Mozart, Hayden, or Bach.

I just watched the video because of this thread. I had my 17 yr old son find it for me. From the comments I was expecting to see several images of Bush. There was ONE! One only. Most of the video is inhabited by pictures of Hitler, and several of some distorted-looking angel creatures. The face of "Jesus" is super-imposed on the angel bodies a few times. While I don't find the video worth watching again, I don't think it is necessarily Bush-bashing. I looked at it as bashing the political establishment in general. More of the good vs. evil type of stuff, meaning how the population doesn't want to be taken in by the evil, but somehow we pay attention to what they say anyway. I don't think the song or the video have any real redeeming quality about them, but I also don't see them as bashing Bush. There is only ONE quick clip of him in it. That's not bashing. Granted, it did have Hitler in it, but I didn't see it as comparing Bush to Hitler as much as implying that Hitler was the anti-Christ. FWIW, I love GW, and I abhor the stuff that liberals put out against him.

Nothing new here. In 1987 Phil Collins did some inane music video to "Land of Confusion" featuring Reagan as an evil warmongering puppet. Could never listen to that guy again.
