It doesn't appear that anybody was going to post this today.

This happened over half an hour ago

I can't imagine the cold of that water. I can't even stand the cold water that comes out of the shower before the hot water hits.

MSNBC has a story on called "the Enron Factor" and CNN has some other BS on. Fox seems to be the only network covering this right now.

WJZ which is providing fox coverage is cbs in baltimore. All 3 major networks in baltimore are showing sports events right now. They are sending out coverage to national networks. Unbelievable.

We had strong squalls go through Northern Virginia about two hours ago. Was it weather related?

Almost had to be high winds. They don't allow high wakes in the inner harbor.

Occurred 4PM or so - prayers for strength for those people in the water, and for rescue workers.

Thanks for posting a thread on this, George. This does not look good, not good at all. Hypothermia sets in so quickly that the only thing the Coast Guard can do is attempt to recover bodies.

My prayers for the victims.

Thanks. I've never been on them but see them whenever I'm in B'more. Basically they are pontoon housboats and quite slow.

That water is not deadly cold. I lived on a boat in that harbor for two years. I know how those water taxis are constructed; they are very stable. I'm curious how this accident happened.

It'll probably take some time before we find out the official USCG results, but the survivors would be able to give us a good idea.
