Pardon me for my cynicism but...

I am SO not surprised.

What's good for the judge is not always good for the jury. I'm so tired of this hypocrisy, but exposing it doesn't seem to do the slightest bit of good.

What do you do?

In the current steroids scandal facing baseball, the feds are giving baseball players caught up in the scandal immunity so that they can put BALCO, the steroid supplier, in jail. Pretty standard, right -- give the users immunity in exchange for going after the dealers. Yet Palm Beach County gives Rush's dealers immunity in exchange for them testifying against him! Can you name any drug case, let alone an oxycontin one, where the dealer gets to put the user in jail?

TROUBLED COUNTY JUDGE'S CAREER ENDS WITH OK OF INVOLUNTARY RETIREMENT

BYLINE: SUSAN SPENCER-WENDEL, Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

EDITION: FINAL SECTION: LOCAL MEMO: Ran all editions.

WEST PALM BEACH -- The 16-year career of County Judge Robert Schwartz officially ended Tuesday, with the Florida Supreme Court approving his involuntary retirement, effective immediately. Schwartz - off the bench since April battling mental illness and a painkiller addiction - did not contest a finding last month by the Judicial Qualifications Commission that he was unfit to serve. Tuesday's ruling by the Florida Supreme Court made it official. "It's sad to see we've lost a judge in this manner," said Cal Warriner, chairman of the local Judicial Nominating Commission.
