WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Bush administration backed off plans to require that millions of visa-carrying Mexicans who make short visits to America and stay close to the border be fingerprinted and photographed to get into the country.

Asa Hutchinson, the Homeland Security department's undersecretary for border and transportation, was to publicly announce the policy change at a Capitol Hill hearing Thursday, a congressional official who was briefed on the plan told The Associated Press.

The roadmap is a major embarassment from my perspective. The only guy who's a-- we kiss more than Fox's, is Yasser Arafat.

The man has been a terrorist for 55 years and we can't even say it. Lordy! Leadership? Yep, this is what this administration thinks passes for it...

sure they do... right.
The "mexican citizens" visiting the usa in the photo still have the ink on their fingers from their legal visa compliance, fingerprinting and photographs, no doubt.

fofl.

The photo is of these types of visa holders? Hmmm. Why would they try to sneak in if they went to all the trouble to get a legal visa? Maybe they're on drugs? Doesn't make any sense.

WHY?
i dunno.

perhaps because they helped the terrorist nations of the world build them dirty bombs and nukes to begin with?

if this is true...
nevermind, but bush and t. thompson, aren't exactly acting so awful bright on this.

We need to buy American!

You have any data about the bid figures? If the American companies underbid the German ones and the Germans got the contract anyway- that is indeed scandalous.

who knows if we don't check them all?
maybe they left their visas in L.A. man... yeah thas the ticket. maybe their brother HAS a good visa that looks just like them... and fingerprinting is the only way to make sure they are NOT here using their brother's visa....

Hey, why would I suspect that certain family members and friends of similar age, build, height, hair and eye color, and similar to nearly identical in appearance would share documents in so cal? Perhaps because some folks I used to know did it regularly... comprende?

this is criminal and indefensible.

I thought this article was going to be about President Bush finally hearing what his followers have to say on this issue.

I was VERY wrong.

And I am VERY upset.

Mexico lobbies for alien amnesty

By Jerry Seper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

The Mexican government is lobbying U.S. lawmakers and civic leaders for amnesty or guest-worker status for millions of illegal aliens now in the United States, working through a coalition of U.S.-based immigration rights associations, Mexican-American organizations and grass-roots Hispanic groups.

Not long ago, a pretty well established "conservative" freeper friend of mine told me "paulson, get over it pal, the man, is for the most part... a democrat..."

This stuff is beginning to make me think, he wasn't far off the mark. Bush needs to address this 'soft on invasion' policy.

INS used to stand for immigration and naturalization service...
now it stands for "invasion normalization strategery."

Quick, somebody call Super T... (Tommie Thompson) he will set things aright pronto.

I know lots of people who break the law on a regular basis. But the last time I looked the police here don't take it out on everybody.

Turn them in. See that someone will press charges for the criminal acts you say you KNOW are occuring. They could be terrorists. By your admission they are all felons and criminals.

But the last time I looked the police here don't take it out on everybody.

They shouldn't enforce our anti-invasion laws on everybody, just the non-citizen criminal scofflaws while they are "visiting" this nation.

Turn them in.

Why?

By your admission they are all felons and criminals.

When did I say they were felons?

My original point was why require the visa interview and fingerprints if it is meaningless? If the visa means nothing, fingerprint and photograph everytime, sure. But why go through the charade of ever getting the meaningless visa? Seems a waste of time, money and resources.
