Millions of visa-carrying Mexicans who make short visits to America and stay close to the border won't have to be fingerprinted and photographed to get into the country.
Asa Hutchinson, the Homeland Security department's undersecretary for border and transportation, was to publicly announce the policy change at a congressional hearing Thursday, a congressional official who was briefed on the plan told The Associated Press.

As I understand it, if their name starts with a-z, they're exempt.

Under the plan outlined by the congressional official, Mexicans who have so-called laser visas won't be fingreprinted and photographed provided they stay in the United States no more than three days and remain close to the border.
Well, as long as they promise to obey our laws, and there's no opportunity for fraud...

What has Fox EVER done for us??
The good news is that this will allow many Mexicans to earn additional income as it gives them yet another set of documents to falsify.,p.Have you ever heard a Mexican try to explain what obviously is not true to be true? The stories our agents will hear in explanation of why Pancho doesn't actually have with him the documnet that would allow him to cross the border. Will his Blockbuster's card do instead?
I have to admit that this is one area where I simply do not understand why Bush is doing what he is doing. There is no short or long term benefit for America or for Republicans and, in fact, whatever benefits there are will accrue to the leftists. I am really surprised that the black racist thugs haven't raised hell, pointing out that illegal aliens take the entry level jobs that inner city black youth should be getting. Whether it is true or not, it is a point on which to rally the field hands.

This Administration's immigration "policy"---if you can call it that---is nothing but suicide for the Republican Party. The GOP is never going to capture as much of the Latino vote as the Democrats, whatever self-serving lies ethnic activists and corporate scofflaws feed the party hierarchy.

Nice editing by the SF Gate. In another article it notes that these persons have already been photographed and fingerprinted to get the laser visas. According to that article these new machines will read the laser visas, and thus they all will still be fingerprinted and photographed before entering the US, but those with the laser visas will have that done before arriving, thus reducing the delays upon entering.

Saber, check this out, why should they *promise* to obey our laws ?? NOTHING happens to them if they don't.
As to the *fraud*.......wasn't that a mexican consul they caught last year selling fraudulent US visas ???
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1090691/posts Border Patrol vehicle chase ends on post
By Nate Searing
Sierra Vista Herald/Review
FORT HUACHUCA, ARIZONA - Five illegal immigrants in a stolen truck crashed through a barbed wire fence on post Tuesday.
All were later caught have since been deported, authorities said.
A U.S. Border Patrol agent began following the white 1997 Dodge pickup on Highway 90 a few miles north of Sierra Vista at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Border Patrol spokesman Rob Daniels said the vehicle was driving suspiciously and attempted to enter Fort Huachuca from the Main Gate, apparently to avoid the Border Patrol agent that had been following it.
At that point, the truck made a hasty U-turn and sped southbound on Buffalo Soldier Trail, Daniels said.
The truck swerved off the roadway and struck a barbed wire fence just north of Wilcox Drive, coming to a halt just inside the post perimeter.
After a short foot pursuit, the agent apprehended all five of the illegal immigrants in the truck, but the driver could not be identified. All the men were returned to Mexico on Wednesday.
The vehicle, which possessed a fake Arizona license plate, was found to be stolen out of Glendale two weeks ago and has since been impounded by the Sierra Vista Police Department, Daniels said.

That's right. The vast, vast majority of Mexicans favor socialism, and the Dims will give it to them. If Bush ever gets as much as 25% of the hispanic vote it will be a banner year.

From another thread on this subject: Mexicans who have so-called laser visas currently are allowed to stay in the country three days provided they stay close to the border. Such visas are issued to people who have undergone background checks and consulate interviews where they are fingerprinted and photographed. The visas generally are held by workers and people who need to make frequent quick trips across the border. Top Stories - APSome Mexicans Won't Be Fingerprinted
That info is missing from the article on this thread. Over there, I posted the following: We're in the midst of a War on Terror, as well as an invasion of Illegal Aliens, including hundreds of thousands of hardened criminals. I can understand the desire to expedite border crossings for laser visa holders, but I can also understand the need for some sort of biometric verification that the holders of the cards are who they are supposed to be when they cross. Card flashing because there are prints and pics on file is an inadequate solution. Serious question: How about a drive through retina scan that matches the card with the holder?

OOPS !! Seems like fake visas can be easily obtained from MEXICAN CONSULS.....
http://www.manews.org/0204muslimsuse.html Muslims Use Mexico to Enter U.S. Illegally
While the U.S. government wages war against terrorism on foreign soil, America's poorly guarded Mexican border continues to be used as a covert entry portal by international gangs that smuggle Arabs into the U.S.
In November last year, Mexico's consul in Lebanon, Imelda Ortiz Abdala, was arrested on charges that she helped a smuggling ring move Arabs illegally into the U.S. from Mexico. Also arrested in connection with the smuggling operation was Salim Boughader Mucharrafille, who ran a Lebanese café in Tijuana, Mexico.
U.S. security officials say Boughader, 28, is suspected of smuggling at least 300 Arabs into the U.S. between 1999 and 2002. He had been arrested previously for smuggling and served 10 months of a one-year sentence.

as well as an invasion of Illegal AliensThat's the second act of all this---the subject "concession" (to use the word used in the article) to Fox involves those entering legally. When Fox meets with Bush tomorrow, he has stated already, he will push for an amnesty (that word again) for "undocumented workers."
John Paul GW Bush Jones has not yet begun to concede!
