Gary Aldrich Urges Kerry to Release FBI File
NewsMax ^ | 3/3/04 | Wes Vernon

Posted on 03/02/2004 8:05:10 PM PST by Tumbleweed_Connection

A former FBI agent assigned to the White House wants John Kerry to approve the official release of his confidential FBI file.

Gary Aldrich, who made waves during the Clinton years for writing the New York Times best seller "Unauthorized Access," is leading a citizens' coalition in demanding that the presumptive Democrat nominee release his FBI dossier, protected under U.S. privacy laws.

Aldrich, president of the Patrick Henry Center for Individual Liberty, an organization that supports whistleblowers who expose government corruption, told NewsMax he thought it was critically important for Kerry to ask for the files release to clear the air about his anti-war activities in the early 1970s.

By releasing the file, Aldrich says, Kerry would put any rumors to rest.

Aldrich said his demand was reasonable. He noted that many Democrats demanded, without any proof of wrongdoing, that President Bush should release his military records because of baseless claims he was "AWOL" in the National Guard.

Aldrich, whose activities with the FBI gained a high profile in 1996 when he exposed the broken security system and lax attitude on security in the Clinton White House, will not say what he knows about FBI investigations of Kerry.

'Enlightening'

What he does say is this: “Yes, that’s precisely why it is my organization that can lead the campaign to get Senator Kerry to request these files. I think we’re going to find material in those files very interesting and enlightening, and bring some clarity to what is otherwise a very hazy explanation and description of Senator Kerry’s activity, both in Vietnam and in the U.S. after he returned.”

The Patrick Henry Center does not presume to know the truth about Kerry’s military service, Aldrich says, “nor is the center in receipt of any information about Senator Kerry’s FBI file, if indeed one exists.”

As to whether he has memory of any interest by the FBI in Kerry’s activities in those anti-war days, he is more circumspect. But this much he can say:

“It is well-established that Kerry was a key leader of the group known as Vietnam Veterans Against the War, or VVAW. It is also well-known that the FBI and other domestic intelligence agencies monitored activities of VVAW, and kept files about their leadership and members’ activities.”

Those files are not available to the public. Only the senator can authorize their release.

President Bush ordered the release of his Guard records once the Democrats decided to make an issue of them, possibly as a strategy to inoculate their candidate against any future questions about Kerry's own activities.

Now, says Aldrich, “Senator Kerry, the ball is in your court.”

Fat Chance. The double standard will be on full display. Don't expect Kerry military record either. And no media howl for it, such as ensued about Bush record release.

Everybody should be demanding that Kerry release his service records and medical records.

Bush released all of his -- the media has been hounding him over it. Why are they turning a blind eye towards Kerry keeping those records private?

Kerry is the one who keeps talking about his service in Vietnam -- let's see those records. He should be proud to release them.

WHAT IS KERRY HIDING?

Even if his FBI file never sees the light of day [this isn't the Clinton administration, after all], surely the RNC has some file footage of a militant Kerry making some reckless comments about men in uniform, who were getting shot at while he was tossing his medals for the cameras.

Gary Aldrich has no clout at all. Furthermore none of his predictions have come true. This is a meaningless gesture.

The mass media are activist members of the rat party, who will never in a million years do what is ethical or honest, such as Gary Aldrich's request.

Okay, let's pick ONE MEDIA outlet, at a time, and hammer them until they DEMAND that Kerry release his records. Someone pick one and I'll look up the info.

Okay, here is my very insignificant yet troubling observation about the Democratic voters: They all have conveniently forgotten that this nation is at war. All these pitiful people think about is their own damn take home pay. Simple as that. Bush has made sure that life in America is as normal as ever, and thus he has created a problem. There have been no significant daily reminders that there are animals who are plotting to kill us here or abroad. The only thing I can figure is that this is all by design. Bush might be waiting for Mr. Kerry to step in it when the debates occur. He can then nail him on secret intelligence, and arrests, etc., that have been made since 9/11. By then, it might be too late. We might yet again have a peacenik once again in the White House, and who the hell knows what will transpire????? AlQuaeda's candidate is none other that JF'n Kerry. People we need to get to work ASAP!

Kerry had surgery for prostate cancer -- had his prostate removed in Feb. 2003. The cure rate is high, but we have the right to know.

Let's say the doctor has given him 12 months or so to live and Kerry knows it. Why would he run for Pres. if he's gonna die? What if....?

He takes Queen Hillary on as Veep. She automatically becomes Pres. when he dies. Hmmmm....

Long live Queen Hillary!

We need to learn from the enemy. We need protesters with signs at every Kerry event. The signs should say "Our president has released his service records, why hasn't John Kerry?" etc.

The Bush team should attack Kerry on all fronts EXCEPT for this one because it is possible that this traitor had his history reworked, he has friends in high places.

That's pretty far-out...but the thought has crossed my mind also. The media never mentions Kerry's health but they mention Cheney''s health at any opportunity.

Gee, what has Aldrich to say about TWA Flight 800?

Betcha he knows something the public doesn't know.

Come clean, Mr. X-FBI, and others will, too.

Do you care about US national security?

You know exactly what Monica knows. You were there.

You know who, what, when, where, & why.

So stop with the cheap publicity and start caring about your neighbors.

I'm talking national security.
