No picture was released because the design team thought it was sexist to be concerned about looks

Then I will submit they have NO BUSINESS designing cars, because if that is their attitude then they clearly have no idea what designing cars is all about.

You might be a redneck if:

You think a Volvo is a part of the female anatomy.

They want £35,000 for a what?!!

Already posted here, back in December. The article and following comments are almost identical to this thread, but I thought some of you might like to review it anyway.

Yes! That, and the vacuum onboard to get the sand off the little rats before it gets into the floorboards.

I didn't realize that. I've never before heard a tall person complain about the shoulder straps.

So what does Volvo really have here? It's an S series coupe with some niche convenience features.

Well, yeah, but don't forget the sea anemone carpets and oak panelled console. On second thought, strike the oak panelled console. That's a pretty old idea. But sea anemone ...

So basically, all Volvo is marketing here is a "no boys allowed" stunt. Fits right in with the stated desire to have women jump from 11% to 20% of the managers in ONE year.

I think if I were a male Volvo engineer or manager under the age of 45, I'd be looking to get out.

UGH, this is what happens when a company sells out to Chrysler. What next, a car designed by gays? A car designed by Blacks? A car designed by Muslims?

The YCC boasts a glass roof

Women have complained for years about the glass ceiling, now when they get to change something, the build it with a glass ceiling. How Ironic.

As a professional designer (not cars), and a male I am truly offended by this kind of female only club that is rampant at the same time male only clubs are verboten. Can you imagine picking a group of only male designers and engineers (unless they were gay)! Beyond the stated contention that women are better judges of cars than men, the unspoken implication is that women can design for men but men cannot design for women.
