[history]
THE essays that make up "Between War and Peace" (most were published in 2002 and 2003), form a robust, even angry counterattack on all those, at home and abroad, who decry U.S. efforts to wage the War on Terror, to create a new and better society in Iraq and to defend Israel. Victor Davis Hanson argues brilliantly; he is a fearsome adversary, and he takes no prisoners.

Thanks for the ping. I'll tell you, I spend so much of every day wondering what topsy-turvey thing is going to happen to prove that things are more illogical than I thought possible, so it is always a relief to read Hanson or about Hanson and feel my equilibrium being restored.
As an aside, I am taking a Swedish for Immigrants class and am the only one of three who aren't Middle Eastern. My teacher was jangling chains and had us talking a little about politics. A lady from Iran asked why only the US was "allowed" to have nukes. My teacher winked at me, and listed off all of the other countries that had them too and then said something about the rest of the world "trusting" the Americans with theirs. I was shocked and pleased to have an ally in the class, and thought everyone might like to know that not everyone in Europe hates Americans!

We here on the other side of the ocean hear very little about
any like minded European Conservatives who understand just what the USA is doing for the world.
Thanks for conveying that story.
I share your plight as far as living in Leftist Land.
I'm currently living in Philly. I've met some good souls here too, despite the leftist mind-meld in this city.
