MAD TV WITH BILL O'REILLY
Posted on 03/01/2004 4:11:42 AM PST by 7thson
Did anyone see MAD TV this weekend? I watched it because Bill O'Reilly plugged his appearance earlier in the week. O'Reilly was in only one skit but I thought it funny as hell. American Political Idol - a takeoff of American Idol. O'Reilly was a good sport by showing himself constantly plugging his book and giving signed book autographs. The people they had playing John Kerry, John Edwards, and Al Roker were great. Funniest line is the guy playing Al Roker stating that he always votes Democrat because he is black and it's a federal law for all blacks to vote that way. The best moment of the skit was the woman impersonating Hillary Clinton. What made it so funny was the woman came out dressed in the old crusty. Yes - she was wearing a black pants suit! The guy playing John Kerry was funny the way he kept droning on and on, with every other word being Vietnam, Al Roker begging O'Reilly to get Kerry to stop talking!

You mean there actually was something on television last night?
That sounded like a keeper. I'll be sure to tune in next week.
Thanks

I missed seeing it, but it's good to know that Ol' Crusty got some long overdue recognition. :^)

LOL! Yeah, I saw it. What a hoot! My wife gave me a yell to come watch it. I also like the "Family Fued" with the "LOTR Gang" versus the "Cold Mt Bunch" (or whatever they were!) The host hitting on the girl dressed as Legolas and Legolas telling him "I'm not a she" and some of the other antics got me cracking up. So much better than SNL which has become a perverted, twisted mockery of it's old days.

Mad TV blew past SNL a long time ago. The actors are better. The writers are sharper and wittier. Mad TV is not on some thirty year old, tradition made life support machine.
Lorne Michaels is the single most man who's made a thirty year gig off the backs of a handfull of actors for three years in the mid seventies.
I equate it to a guy still selling pet rocks and he's still getting away with it.

And I think the fact that it's produced by Quincy Jones speaks volumes of the brain talent behind the show.

He already did - last week. If you took the time to read my post, you would see the part where I said he plugged his appearance.

I saw that also - it was a hoot! He told her that if guys looked like her in Middle Earth, he would have no problem turning gay. Then he looked at that gargolye like creature behind her. Funny as hell! I did not like the Oscar skit but enjoyed the hell out of the Olsen twins skit - hip hop sock hop!

They did a great slam on Michael Moore a few weeks back, too -- the "man of the people" riding in limos and Lear jets.

You are mis-informed. That was the latest Democratic Debate.

My favorite skit of theirs was of a guy in his office who was throwing things out his window. First it was paper airplanes, then water balloons. Best one was the guy throws a big water balloon out and yells "Look up!"

That show is so funny.......even if they take off on someone you like, you just have to laugh about it. That's the recipe for success and they have it.

I caught that. It was hilarious. Mad TV is irreverent as all get out, with no sacred cows. That's why I like it. Aries Spears imitating Je$$e, Mike Tyson, and Shaquille O'Neal, that newer guy lampooning Al Sharpton, or Will Sasso impersonating Bill Clinton (I wish Sasso was still on the show), demonstrate that Leftists aren't safe from being mocked on non-cable national television. I'm surprised that they haven't tried to get this show cancelled yet.

How about the special Sasso and crew did at the Grammy's on the carpet walk? It was roaringly funny and successfully indicting of the entertainment industry.
And then that party suite scene which aws just a cheap hotel room, beer, crack whores, and those pretzels with the cheese inside? It was hysterical!

Funny, considering Quincy Jones is a big Demonrat.
To: bushfamfan
He knows that pandering to the left can make you broker than one can imagine in matters of business. Mad TV is just good humor. No exemptions either.
