I once worked for a nun who was the Director of Mission Effectiveness (basically the ethics department)of a large hospital chain. This nun was absolutely the meannest person I ever worked for. One day we were discussing prayer and she told me that she "doesn't believe in the power of prayer". Now why would anyone who doesn't believe in the power of prayer be a nun? Maybe that explains why she was so mean?

If the priest really did say that, he's an idiot. That is so far out and away from Catholic teaching, it is not recognizable. I feel sorry for his congregation - if he's allowed to have one.
