A brief summary of the largely "pass-the back" tendencies of the Clinton administration.

Whoops, sorry, I meant "pass-the-buck".

My mother always said that if you don't have anything positive to say about someone, don't say anything at all.
In the stainmaster's case...I will make an exception!

World Trade Center will remain free from the fear of any such future horrors......That is the single best denial of history I have ever seen in writing. Yep, Bill sure did see that there would be no future horrors at WTC. Yep, he sure did.

Great summary! You left out HIPPA (1996)-Now you get to read and fill out page after page of legal jargon that prevents your family from finding out beans about your medical condition and gives trial lawyers another angle from which to attack health care system.

Impeachment (1998) Clinton became only the second President in U.S. history to be impeached. His response was a heroic and and steadfast defense of the privacy of his personal affairs (no pun intended -- that's not funny), and a determination to continue with the important work of his Presidency.
This one is better:
Impeachment (1998)
Clinton became the only ELECTED President in U.S. history to be impeached. His response was a heroic and and steadfast defense of the privacy of his personal affairs (no pun intended -- that's not funny), and a determination to continue with the important work of his Presidency.

May I add a few:
The bursting of the stock market -- which began in March 2000, shortly after Bill Clinton and Tony Blair announced that the innovators working on the human genome project should not own the intellectual property associated with their work... it was too vital to the world and should become public domain. The biotechs started to crash and the Nasdaq followed.
Enron, Worldcom, and numerous other corporate governance disgraces. I wonder if the Clinton Administration's "if it feels good, do it" attitude on legal and governance issues had any influence on the scandals that devastated millions of American investors and employees.
The economic recession that greeted George Bush officially began in March 2001 but the trendline was firmly established by the 3rd quarter of 2000. This recession was proof positive that Clinton and his administration didn't have a clue about what an Administration SHOULD be doing to help American capitalists produce the economic miracles American has enjoyed for 220 years. It used to gall me when Clinton would laud the State of the Union and all that HE and HIS ADMINISTRATION had done to drive the economy when American entrepreneurs and small business people deserved 90% of the credit.
Clinton's "Bridge to the 21st Century" was constructed by the "cans kicked down the road" to the next administration. Never has a president been handed off more time bombs than the situation Clinton handed off to W. I know its too complicated and now dated for the American populace to remember or understand, but all of us Freepers should make sure this "legacy" is never forgotten.

The other help to the tech stock decline was the attack against Microsoft!
If you check it out, there is a direct correlation to that lawsuit by Janet Reno, and the decline of the .com bubble.

Yes, I forgot to mention that... I'll never forget the sh*t-eating grin on Joel Klein's face as they brought those charges against Microsoft... People complain about John Ashcroft's Justice Department -- how can the mainstream media NOT remember the embarrassment that was Janet Reno and her crew?

This post was done tongue-in-cheek. Later entries praise Clinton's response to other attacks, and applaud the long list of criminal charges brought against Osama bin Laden after later terrorist actions. These are not my opinions at all, rather a (perhaps unsuccessful) attempt at wry humor, and to illustrate the point that Clinton's actions as President left a lot of issues unresolved for President Bush to deal with. Bill Clinton had a maddening persistence on legislating via polls and popular opininion, ignoring the big picture and avoiding any attempts at real solutions to big problems.

I am
SO glad that I stumbled upon this thread, as I didn't want to start my own vanity thread. On a supposedly "apolitical" forum that I frequent (tied to my alma mater), someone had the nerve to say that the Bush Administration
"tells only half-truths and that we SHOULDN'T HAVE TO QUESTION OUR PRESIDENT'S MOTIVES." My response to her was that "you just stated EXACTLY how I felt for eight long, grueling years of the Clintonistas."
And here is the kicker: she responded by asking "how did Clinton adversly affect your life?"
Besides the long laundry list of things I am going to write back, does anyone else want in on this softball question??
