[history]
WASHINGTON -- As John Kerry campaigns for the Democratic presidential nomination, he is stressing his military record as no candidate of his party has done since John F. Kennedy made his PT-109 a household name in 1960.
Kerry also is contrasting his own service, as a Navy swift-boat commander who received three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star, with that of President Bush, who did his Vietnam War-era service in the Texas Air National Guard.

Your statement IS profound, by today's standards.
My husband was a Navy pilot in Viet Nam. I have never seen him humble before anyone other than the guys who were "on the ground". He respects what they did as much as anyone. He views his role as nothing more than support for the real heroes in any war.
What Kerry has done is almost blasphemy.

I for one will be glad to see that botoxed phony get what's coming to him. I just wish a poll of Viet-Nam veterans only would be published followed by a poll of active service personnel. I don't think Kerry would want to publicize either one.

He's really overdoing it on the "blame Bush for everything" rants. That stuff will eventually cause a backlash ala (Howie Dean) meltdown IMO. His arrogance is showing badly.
