Eighty-one percent of sex crimes committed against children by Roman Catholic priests during the past 52 years were homosexual men preying on boys, according to a comprehensive study released yesterday on the church's sex abuse crisis.

The John Jay study was commissioned 20 months ago by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in response to hundreds of sex-abuse accusations that were made in nearly every U.S. Catholic diocese. It covered the years from 1950 to 2002 and found 10,667 cases of abuse.

I get so sad when I think of all the children turned permanetly from the Chruch because of this kind of horrible victimization. How many go on to be gay as a result? How many more reject Christ? Will Hell be filled with these victims? I cannot believe it sometimes, I do not WANT to believe it, yet it happened.

"Bishops are scapegoating gay priests and this is just a way for bishops to deflect tension from their inability to protect children in their care," he said. "Bishops are not using modern thinking when they say a gay man is more prone to having sex than a straight man."

I tend to think a gay priest is much more likely to have sex with boys than a straight priest. But maybe I'm not up on all this "modern thinking" goin' 'round.

This can't be. After all, Leftists have told everyone for decades that homosexuality and pedophilia are totally separate. In fact, they've maintained that there's such a separation that anyone who would dare speak of a connection was himself a victim of a kind of crime, namely the crime of thinking untrue (and potentially emotionally damaging) thoughts.

You see, the truth about homosexual men isn't a pleasant one in many respects. It's better to leave certain details out, you know, so that the sexual revolution can advance, so that the Cause can continue. It's also best to frame the debate as one between "tolerance" and "intolerance." The truth doesn't matter. The agenda is what matters to Leftist liars and propagandists.

Do we blame the institutions or those who compromise them? In the last 40 years I have seen a feminization of the church, beginning with the leftist activism of the 60's. Like other civil institutions the power structure was compromised as activists worked themselves into positions of responsibility.

Wow. $650 million documented costs of buggery. It makes women look more and more like a bargain all the time!

Sounds like it's time for an exorcism. In all seriousness I extend best wishes for a recovery from, and rectification of, this scandal to my Catholic brothers in Christ.

The problem with the "Catholic Gay Group" and other "Christian" gay lobbies is this -- they daren't say it in public, but they believe that something good happened to those kids.

Bernard Goldberg, author of Arrogance, writes about getting a call from a producer at CNN who called him about a problem with the way her network was covering the “abusive priests scandal”.
Over and over, as she told me, her colleagues insisted on calling the sexual molestations of teenage boys and young men “pedophilia,” which, in the common understanding of the term, it did not seem to be. Pedophilia is a mental disorder involving the sexual molestation of very young children. This was overwhelmingly the molestation of boys in their early to midteens.
Charlotte Iserbyt (sp?) author of The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America writes
in 1999 the American Psychological Association (APA) felt comfortable publishing in its Journal a study suggesting that pedophilia is harmless and even beneficial if consensual. According to an article in the June 10, 1999 issue of The Washington Times, entitled “Psychology Group Regrets Publishing Pedophilia Report: Practice Not Always Harmful, Article Said,” the APA was taken by surprise when “its report provoked angry public reaction, including a House of Representatives resolution condemning it. It followed up with an abrupt about-face in an apologetic letter to House Majority Whip Tom DeLay” which expressed regret—not that it supported the idea of acceptable adult-child sex—but that the article had been published in a public journal.]
The CNN producer who called Goldberg made this point:
"It's not pedophilia," she said, emphasizing that this wan't some insignificant word game, that mental disorders wre one thing but what was going on in the church was quite another. "Sure, there were a couple of high-profile cases in the very beginning that were about pedophiles, a couple of men who raped eight-year-old boys. But that was completely different." What it was overwhelmingly about, she added, "was gay priests molesting fifteen- and sixteen-year-old boys. Those are the facts, and they are indisputable. It's just amazing how people around here are not getting it."
One can't help but wonder if all of the bells and whistles about gay marriage is the equivalent of a smoke grenade to obfuscate the question--since almost all of the priests involved were gay, and since almost all of the victims were adolescent boys, as the CNN producer suggested to Goldberg:
Our stories should ask the question: Why is that and could that be causing the molestation of these kids? And if so, then what do we need to do about it? Do we need to get rid of gays in the priesthood?

Will Hell be filled with these victims?

Because I really think you mean well, I shall refrain from blasting you, and instead gently point out how much this question sounds like blaming the victim.

Caveat: I'm an Episcopalian, and I believe that God forgives us all, even the part where we don't forgive Him for letting awful stuff happen. Like this.

See, I've told Xena's Guy that it would be just as cheap to marry me. I only cost around $350 million and change.

The fact it was 80% homosexual encounters has been washed over by the media. They only are focusing on blaming the leadership. (both to blame but GEEEZ)

Will the catholic church now purge the homosexuals that remain?

"Will the catholic church now purge the homosexuals that remain?"

That realy depends on what percentage of catholic priests are queer. If 4% of the priests abused children and 80% for those abuses were by homosexuals, then 3.2% of all priests engaged in homosexual child abuse. Now if only 3.2% of the priests are queer, then all queer priests engaged in child abuse, so get rid of them.

However, if 80% of all priests are queer, then you have a different situation. How many queer priests are out there?

I hate to see the pain in the face of my Catholic friends who are crushed by the infiltration of their church by deviants who's sole objective is to destroy it from within. In the process, those deviants are feeding upon as many innocent souls as they can get their hands upon. Whoever thinks Satan doesn't exist needs to open their eyes, he's open active thse days.

The Catholics I know are the most decent, kind and loving people I have ever met, period. I pray for them and that their fatih will remain unaffected no matter what the enemy does to their church.

There should be zero homosexual priests. homosexuality is incompatible with the priesthood.

Upon reflection, I see what you mean, I get so angry sometimes, having to deal with someone close to me that was molested (not by a priest)and then committed suicide that I post without thinking. God, give me strength.

Decades of abuse + decades of multiple bishops moving multiple priests around + decades of cover-ups = CONSPIRACY at the Church's highest levels.

Seems obvious to me.
