Bernard Goldberg, author of Arrogance, writes about getting a call from a producer at CNN who called him about a problem with the way her network was covering the “abusive priests scandal”.
Over and over, as she told me, her colleagues insisted on calling the sexual molestations of teenage boys and young men “pedophilia,” which, in the common understanding of the term, it did not seem to be. Pedophilia is a mental disorder involving the sexual molestation of very young children. This was overwhelmingly the molestation of boys in their early to midteens.
Charlotte Iserbyt (sp?) author of The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America writes
in 1999 the American Psychological Association (APA) felt comfortable publishing in its Journal a study suggesting that pedophilia is harmless and even beneficial if consensual. According to an article in the June 10, 1999 issue of The Washington Times, entitled “Psychology Group Regrets Publishing Pedophilia Report: Practice Not Always Harmful, Article Said,” the APA was taken by surprise when “its report provoked angry public reaction, including a House of Representatives resolution condemning it. It followed up with an abrupt about-face in an apologetic letter to House Majority Whip Tom DeLay” which expressed regret—not that it supported the idea of acceptable adult-child sex—but that the article had been published in a public journal.]
The CNN producer who called Goldberg made this point:
"It's not pedophilia," she said, emphasizing that this wan't some insignificant word game, that mental disorders wre one thing but what was going on in the church was quite another. "Sure, there were a couple of high-profile cases in the very beginning that were about pedophiles, a couple of men who raped eight-year-old boys. But that was completely different." What it was overwhelmingly about, she added, "was gay priests molesting fifteen- and sixteen-year-old boys. Those are the facts, and they are indisputable. It's just amazing how people around here are not getting it."
One can't help but wonder if all of the bells and whistles about gay marriage is the equivalent of a smoke grenade to obfuscate the question--since almost all of the priests involved were gay, and since almost all of the victims were adolescent boys, as the CNN producer suggested to Goldberg:
Our stories should ask the question: Why is that and could that be causing the molestation of these kids? And if so, then what do we need to do about it? Do we need to get rid of gays in the priesthood?

"Do we need to get rid of gays in the priesthood?"

Absolutely. Saint Paul in his letter to the Romans - and I believe we can take the Apostle to the Gentiles as an adequate authority? - And Paul's letter to the Romans as second only to the Gospels as the source of written truth? - has much to say on our subject in Chapter 1.

(18) "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those who by their wickedness suppress the truth. (19) For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. (20) Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse; (21) for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. (22) Claiming to be wise, they became fools; (23) and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles. (Mental images resembling things of this world, products of their imagination, inner images of worldly desires, of lust.)

(24) Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, (25) because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

(26) For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, (27) and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.

(28) And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done. (29) They were filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, craftiness, they are gossips, (30) slanderers, God-haters, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, rebellious toward parents, (31) foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. (32) They know God's decree, that those who practice such things deserve to die--yet they not only do them but even applaud others who practice them."

Anyone care to dispute the truth here? Not me.

"Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!"

Homosexual acts are caused by a fundamental rejection of God.
