[history]
Washington, D.C. - Sen. Tom Harkin called Thursday for U.S. peacekeeping forces to be dispatched to Haiti, saying Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide was elected with stronger voter support than President Bush.
"He's got more support there than Bush got in this country," said the Iowa Democrat in a conference call with Iowa reporters. "He's a legitimate, democratically elected president."

This state certainly isn't "psycho" however we do have one idiot representing us in the Senate. Sorry. I meant "schizo". My bad. No matter what, electing both these guys is nuts.

Harkin? The senator who endorsed Dean?
What a pathetic clown.

"Bush did not win the popular election in this country. He won because he got one more vote in the Supreme Court of the United States in a case that never should have been decided by the Supreme Court."
This is the new DNC talking point on the 2000 election. It's not that he stole the election anymore, it's that Bush was wrong to take it to SCOTUS. I've heard this several times this week. I suppose this also means Gore should have never taken his case to the Florida courts. And it's right up there with "Bush brought on the NG controversy himself when he put on that flight suit." These people never stop, it's exhausting.

I'm going to see it, but not right yet. My friend that is a priest saw it and suggested that given my moms recent death it might be better if I wait for awhile. He told me the scenes between Mary and Jesus are some of the best, being both poignant and gentle.
You know me I even cried during Dumbo.

"Someone refresh my memory here. I thought the USSC vote was 6 - 3." The key vote, which was to stop the uncontrolled vote counting authorized by the Florida State Supreme Court, was 7-2. Only Steven Breyer and David Souter dissented.
The proposed remedy, which was to allow the state of Florida to certify the votes according to existing approved counts and extent law, was 5-4. Ginsburg and Stevens joined in dissenting, but the four submitted four separate opinions as to what remedy should have been undertaken.
The media always calls this a 5-4 split decision. But the fact is that 7 of the justices agreed the Florida State Supreme Court had royally screwed up. The only real disagreement was what to do about it.
Importantly, none of the four separate dissents advocated allowing the count to proceed as they had been authorized by the Florida State Supremes!

Maybe someone could tell me how Mrs T. Harkin and Mrs Christopher Dodd escaped being interviewed over some of the large loans they put Enron's way?

I'm beginning to think we'd be better off with both Harkin and Grassley retired. Chuck's become an Iowa Bob Dole. Harkin has always been Harkin.
To: OESY
This Harkin is a real piece of work. A disgrace to the word "Senator".

Wonder why the Iowa reporters didn't immediately ask Harkin about the democratically elected mullahs in Iran.
Obviously, they too have more support than Bush did.
The hypocrisy of Harkin is intentionally overlooked.

Clinton was acquitted of the impeachment charges. Uhhh, no he wasn't. He was impeached on the charges. He was not removed by the Senate.
