"Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, told me 30 years ago when he was still CNO that during his own command of U.S. naval forces in Vietnam, just prior to his anointment as CNO, young Kerry had created great problems for him and the other top brass,by killing so many non-combatant civilians and going after other non-military targets. We had virtually to straitjacket him to keep him under control,"

Zumwalt commanded all naval forces in Vietnam and planned his mission there. Zumwalt's statements about his performance raise the question whether Kerry was a war criminal rather than a war hero. And if so, why Zumwalt didn't do something about it.

.We had virtually to straitjacket him to keep him under control,"He wants to be the President of the United States. Scary!
Let's hope patriotic people like this man go front and center if Kerry gets the Democrat nod.
Bookmarked and e-mailed around cyberspace.

wonder if this guy was such a loose cannon that he wasn't disciplined for exceeding orders? funny how the only authority quoted in this article is dead and cannot confirm what he is quoted as saying.

Being Kerry was the only officer around, just who put him in for the Silver Star???If I understand correctly, this man in the article would have to sign the OK for the medal. People have to vote and sign the paperwork. It goes up the latter.
There's wayyyy too many questions about that silver star. Maybe he really did pick it up off the ground after an anti-American protest!!!!

And Zumwalt ran for the Senate himself, as a DemocRAT.

I guess it runs with the name.
Bob Kerry executed civilians and wrote himself up for a Bronze Star with a combat "V"
John F Kerry shots civilians and writes himself up for a Silver Star with a combat "V"

Why won't Kerry release his war records?
To: camle
funny how the only authority quoted in this article is dead and cannot confirm what he is quoted as saying.I think his signature would have to be on the paperwork that approved Kerry's silver star.
If it's there, he's lying.
If it's not there, Kerry's lying.

Why won't Kerry release his war records? They would destroy him personally as well as politically.
No one will EVER be allowed to see his military records as long as Kerry can stop it.
Politically, there needs to be a powerful movement to force his hand. He'd run like a coward.

For an Admiral to take notice of a lowly LT is truly revealing...I want to see his notations in Kerry's military file...RELEASE YOUR MILITARY RECORDS, KERRY!

All he did is read the recommendation and sign off on what somebody else wrote he would have no idea if it was true or false.

If that was true then didn't Elmo have the authority to pull Kerry off the Swifts and place him in other duty? If so then I doubt the accuracy of the alledged statement.
