Just because it doesn't make any living sense, doesn't mean you didn't try to make the connection. That was exactly my point. Why else would you equate a medical student with a divinity student ???? Keep in mind I am one of said students and I believe I know what I'm talking about when I say the court's decision was CORRECT. Perhaps you should come up with a different analogy - one that's not so lame to begin with.

With that same logic, why should childless couples have to pay taxes for schools at all?

Because we all benefit from roads, science, medical, pharmy, computer, arts, teachers and so on and so forth. Tax dollars spend on education return to all of us, either directly or indirectly.

However, if I'm Buddist, Mormon, Baptist, (insert group here); I do NOT benefit from paying from a minister who serves a congregation I do not attend. The recipients of the minister are limited only to the congregation to which he belongs. Doctors, engineers, programmers, teachers, ect... serve EVERYBODY regardless of religous belief (and this is enforced by federal law).

On paper you are right, they do have a right to do that, but in practice they don't. When you apply for state grants, or federal subsidized loans, you don't have to tell them what you are studying.

You know, I'll give you some free wisdom, based on a lot of observation. No matter what you do, you won't really deal with this until you just deal with it honestly. You choose not to, that's all on you. But all the finger pointing, nastiness, blame-shifting... you'll still have that itch in your conscience, and it'll bug you again and again.

You basically have two choices: deal honestly, or try your best to go do something else, and hope you can forget it.

Up to you. You response will pretty much tell me your choice.

For my part, I hope this religious discrimination in the high court gets turned around soon. It's not right, and it's un-Constitutional.
