The first vote is to end the fillibuster. I'll post the other votes on this thread when they happen and when Thomas prints them. On this first vote, a YEA vote ends the fillibuster.
Everything should happen in the next 30 hours since cloture was invoked. However, right now - Drunken swimmer Ted Kennedy is going on a very long rant.

Wasn't 1805 the POS that had the no lawsuit thang yet had a extension of the AWB buried in it ?? I thought this was good for firearms industry yet extended the AWB. Did Swinesteins AWB extension part of this get trashed ??

The addition of the "Assault Weapons Ban" must be identified to the Republicans as a DEFINING ISSUE in that I plan to NOT VOTE if it is renewed.

S.1805 replaced S.659 yesterday, since S.659 did get an AWB extension "poison pill" amended to it. At least, that's what I gathered. I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong!
S.1805 is the "pure" firearms-mfgr. protection bill.

Incredibly, even DU's bashing feinstein's insanity. Hardcore leftists don't even like this AWB junk anymore.

Probably because they know that it will cost them votes.

Great, Hollings voted nay. Looks like I will be on the phone and emailing.Email I received from the lame rat Hollings in response to my email:
Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding S. 659. I always enjoy learning my constituents' thoughts and concerns.
The Senate Committee on the Judiciary is currently reviewing S. 659. I am not a member of this committee, but you can rest assured that I will take your views into consideration if this bill reaches the Senate floor.
Again, thank you for your letter. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future when an issue of concern to you arises.
With kindest regards, I am
Sincerely,
Ernest F. Hollings
United States Senator

Is the AWB still attached? I assume that it can still be removed before a vote if it is, right?

Our RAT Jeff Bingaman voted yea. That is suprising. I called his office again this morning and the guy I talked to said they have been hammered with calls yesterday and today. I asked him which way it was going and he said they've heard from more unhappy gun owners. I told him to remind Senator Bingaman that 60% of NM voters live in the country and if he supports this, we are going to throw him out of office. The guy laughed and said that seems to be the mood of people today. Hopefully Bingaman listens to the voters!!

DeWine is the ONLY Republican to vote bad on the first vote. Some of these (Leahy, Stabenow) are flat out shocking. Rockefeller changed his vote from nay to yay. Edwards and Kerry chickened out. I hope Zell gets back in time for the rest of the votes. DeWine is a little, statist twerp.

How could they be voting to end this filibuster when they've been talking non-stop for the last year and a half about judges? </ sarcasm>

I personally will not vote for any Republican regardless of office if he/she extends this ban. Grow a Spine Republicans! (President included)
