The first vote is to end the fillibuster. I'll post the other votes on this thread when they happen and when Thomas prints them. On this first vote, a YEA vote ends the fillibuster.
Everything should happen in the next 30 hours since cloture was invoked. However, right now - Drunken swimmer Ted Kennedy is going on a very long rant.

I have no thoughts on what the NRA is doing.
I'm only interested in what I'm doing ~ I have no control over their actions.

It could very well be far worse than we suspect.
They may be willing to let this one go, confident in the knowledge that the recent proliferation of calls for Constitutional amendments -- from mainstream politicians -- can only be addressed in "reasonable" time via a Consitutional Convention.
If that's what's coming down the pike, we've got a hell of a lot more to worry about than either a lawsuit bill or the renewal of the AWB. Like, a total loss of the Constitution -- including the BoR -- for starters.

"I suspect the law wants to hold harmless both the dealer and the manufacturer if the law is followed and some subsequent unlawful action by a third party causes harm"
That is exactly what the bill is about.

Really, I thought you are a NRA life member. I thought members have pull with them. Why be a member if your voice does not count, after all there are other organizations that will listen to your voice and fight for your rights.

"... So what you're saying is, you'd rather run the risk of having no guns at all?" No, see, you don't get it... I'll always have my guns. That's a certainty.
What I'm saying is that if the RKBA people can be credited for handing both houses of Congress and the Executive office over to alleged Pro-RKBA representatives, and those same representatives turn around and give Dianne Feinstein every anti-RKBA thing she wants, then what does that describe?
Backstab us at your peril: The list of former representatives who have lost their office because they screwed over the RKBA people is quite long indeed. There are plenty of Republicans in that political graveyard, I might remind you.
You have to earn our votes. That's how it works. You screw us on RKBA, and it is you that ran to embrace John Kerry, Dianne Feinstein, and the anti-RKBA villains -- Not us.

Agreed. I phoned Sen. George Allen's office and raised hell on the AWB issue. I also called Allen's office. I asked what his position on the issue was - although I've read several emails that were sent to others saying he would support an extension of the AWB, providing it remained the same. They told me he was "taking comments." We'll see, but I lost some trust on George when he came out in favor of a renewal.
I also called Warner's office, but that old guy is senile, I'm afraid. They told me he was going to go in with Feinstein on an extension, like I heard yesterday. What a RINO.

Yeah, I know. But what can you do? You can't threaten to not vote for him. I would laugh in your face and tell you to kiss my butt, if I was in his situation.

Virginia gun owners are hopping mad as John Warner had signed on to Feinstein's extension bill. People are calling, faxing and emailing their intention to sit out the election if the RINOs sell out their base.

People are calling, faxing and emailing their intention to sit out the election if the RINOs sell out their base. Oh that's good. Throw the state to Kerry because of what an idiot Senator does. Here's a better idea. How about voting the Senator out of office (obviously in the primary) whenever he comes up for reelection.
To: Gringo1
Yeah, attack the disenfranchied republicans. That's the best way to win back their votes. In fact, the more you beat them over the head, insult them, dismiss their concerns, and, in your words, "flame" them, the more likely they are to return to the fold.
And we wonder why people call us "the stupid party"...
