The first vote is to end the fillibuster. I'll post the other votes on this thread when they happen and when Thomas prints them. On this first vote, a YEA vote ends the fillibuster.
Everything should happen in the next 30 hours since cloture was invoked. However, right now - Drunken swimmer Ted Kennedy is going on a very long rant.

DeWine is a little, statist twerp. He is good on some things, like pro-life issues.

The problem here is that
1. Levin's opponents do not get any help whatsoever. Rocky was hung out to dry and it's too bad since he's a good man. I voted for him, but it wasn't enough.
2. Too many think of Levin as the old grandfather.
3. Too many people do not know where Lenin really stands on the issues.
It's pathetic, and I'm embarassed to say he's from my state.

I'm doing what I can to redeem that word.
For starters, we constructionists must stop allowing the Statists to define it.

It's pathetic, and I'm embarassed to say he's from my state. We've got Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, so I think we have you beat in the leftie Senators dept. .....And I recently moved here from the Boxer/Feinswine state.

True....My Mom is a big-time liberal as is my brother, and both are pro-2nd amendment and my Mom packs a gun and has a ccw.The difference is that our family is a hunting family. My grandfathers were both lifelong hunters, as are myself and my Dad and guns are not seen as "evil".

I never liked Levin, he is another reason for term limits.

Cantwell is currently berating the President over jobs loss....I guess she hasn't been told that they are debating a gun bill.

No, asided from the minor problem of criminal liability for not conducting the background check (Which might not have shown the restraining order anyway), there is a provision in the bill that allows suing when a law is broken and for negligent entrustment or negligence per Thanks for that clarification. That certainly makes me a supporter of the bill then.

Respectfully, I take the Second Amendment seriously. This is the reset button on the constitution. I'd vote for Nader to skew the system. Yes, John Kerry (57 varieties of pork sh*t) would be worse. However, my vote or lack of is a protest, no matter how minuscule, concerning my constitutional right to defend myself, family, and country (what fraction of it that has not been judicated away If you would vote for nader you are a pretty sick person IMHO. The last Democratic president got over 3,000 americans killed on 9/11. we simply can't, as a nation, take the chance on anyone other than Bush occupying the White House next year, even if it means we aren't entirely happy with his positions on some issues. I'm willing to put up with the AWB if that is what it takes to keep the white house in republican hands and expand our control of the congress so that we can appoint conservative judges.

Welcome to Free Republic.
But are you sure you belong here? I thought this forum was pro-Bush, but if this forum is going to be used to campaign against the President's reelection solely on the basis of his views on the AWB then I probably am in the wrong place. I believe the security of this nation is what ought to drive our votes in the next election, and therefore we have no choice but to strongly and vigerously work for GWB's reelection, no matter what minor differences we may have with him in some areas. The security of this nation is too important to leave in the hands of a traitor like John Kerry.

All the bill does is to say that if a manufacturer's product is not defective, and if the product is sold in a legal and compliant manner, then there is nothing to sue either the dealer or the manufacturer about. Wouldn't you agree with that? Of course, thanks for the clarification.
