I agree that such a law isn't required. But, if the law parrots what is common practice anyway, and the practice is only the selling of a lock with the gun, then I don't give a hoot if it's part of this bill. OTOH, if some of the more extreme interpretations asserted on this thread are true (guns have to have integral locks, guns must be locked up until the moment of use, etc.), then the amneded law is a sell-out, if passed.I agree 100%. Their meddling has gone too far!!!!

"They gave away half the farm on that one."
The rest of the farm will be tossed out with the AWB stuff.
And they won this big, there's a clear bipartisan mandate to get guns banned it appears.

Dodd's time expired.
And he's voting against it no matter what.

He keeps repeating the same lies over and over again. He needs to get his head out of Hillary's ass. I realize it is pretty easy to get lost in there. But maybe him and Kennedy can find his car keys and rive out.

I gotta go. (Damnit!)
The roll call will be posted on Thomas in about an hour. The text MIGHT be there then, and we can find out if we give a little or if we gave the farm.

I just got a phone call through to Hatch's legislative assistant suggesting an amendment I termed, "The Responsibility in Government Act". The crux is that if a homeowner is killed or injured as a result of being unable to disengage a government mandated safety device that Soverign Domain is waived and the homeowner can hold the Federal Government responsible.
I doubt it'll go anywhere, but I really want to see these bastards held to the same standard they're shoving down our throats.

The worst thing is, we might have to go to the USSC and fight this as unconstitutional, and they hate gun topics.
So we're probably screwed. I have a feeling this thing, with AWB and gun lock stuff will fly through congress and Bush will sign it, ASAP.

So what is the latest? Did they add the AWB ammendment? Has there been a vote?

I don't think they did the AWB, but they already virtually killed the 2nd with the safety stuff. It sounds like some 80 million new felons are about to be created by barbara boxer and her GOP friends who passed it.
