If Kerry (now)says he didn't participate in war crimes and didn't cover it up as an officer in service, then he DID lie before congress. SO, the retort to every answer he gives should ALWAYS be: Were you lying then or are you lying now? bump

Wouldn't 'Kerry Vietnam' in a title search be good enough?

Frank Dux: He charged many recognizable Vietnam vets with using techniques bordering on war crimes. Dux was a fraud and non Vietnam Veteran. Is that the "Bloodsport" Frank Dux?

Wouldn't 'Kerry Vietnam' in a title search be good enough? Perhap, perhaps not. I sell a lot of things on Ebay. I know the value of keywords when it comes to consumers looking for products (ie.news). The better the description, the better the search.
Trust me, more is better.

I met this guy, he was temp assigned to NAS Atlanta prior to discharge (in early 69). I remember him as "jim", said he was a Seal and had helped found VVAW.
We didn't see eye to eye.

NAS?
"We didn't see eye to eye".
Sounds interesting.

I do not deny his heroism under fire. First let me preface this by saying I do not wish to denigrate those who were awarded decorations for valor. I have served with America's finest (and also a few "rectal vents").
At the time, the awarding of Bronze Stars and in more isolated cases Silver Stars was almost automatic to any combat officer in any branch. It was an ingrained part of the 1970's "Ticket Punching" process and it was considered character assasination to not recommend a combat officer for an award.
Just recently, some of my fellow airmen were awarded Bronze stars for helping launch B-2 from Whiteman AFB in Missouri during Operation Iraqi Freedom. They were never near a war zone.
I'd like to restate my admiration for those who legitimately received their awards in the crucible of combat. At the same time, I am always suspicious of those who drape the mantle of honor on themselves for public consumption. In my experience, the true heroes wish to remain anonymous.

Naval Air Station Atlanta, it's part of the Dobbins/Lockheed
base in Marietta Ga.
It's been a long time but I remember meeting him and his
mentioning being a Seal, and helping found VVAW.
Later I was contacted and asked to appear at some kind of
Vietnam War Crimes Tribunal at Georgia State University,
when I replied that the only war crimes I had heard about were VC and NVA regular, they weren't interested.
Looks like he made quite a career out of his activism.

NO, Dale Andrade - Ashes to Ashes provides information on Osborn. B.G. Burkett, Stolen Valor provides information on most of the others. I was at Holabird with the two I mentioned. This oversight correction is now on my posting - I sometimes forget that what I know should be identified further. Osborn testified before Congress a couple of times - Phoenix was an incentive for the Winter Soldier Investigation - but I can find no one yet who testified there. However, in 2001, on Meet the Press, Kerry once again named Phoenix specifically as an assassination program and said that soldiers testified to that effect 30 years ago. Some of these guys are more recent wannabes. Hope this clears things up - contact me at
larryjodaniel@yahoo.com for more information if you want. I am working on a more specific Kerry information that will get gritty.
