Dear Editor:
I am livid!!!! I just found out from my daughter that she has been forced for the last two days and will have to continue again tomorrow to watch the lying communist documentary by the liar and traitor to this the greatest country ever, the United States, entitled Bowling for Columbine!
I have tolerated her statements to my daughter and her classmates, that...President Bush did not win the election, that he stole it, that Gone With the Wind was the biggest farce of a movie ever because the battlefield scenes never happened, and white women were not terrified , tormented, raped and murdered!
I have not sent my children to school to be indoctrinated to become lying, stealing cheating communists! I refuse to pay the salary of any such so called educator, threw my taxes. I demand her immediate resignation! She should be used for an example to all other such like minded so called educators!!!!
She is a disgrace to God and Country!
Sincerely,

I will be calling the governor of WV, the Attorney General, and the WV Department of Education. SS. Are they all Demoncrats?

I have not sent my children to school to be indoctrinated to become lying, stealing cheating communists! Damn straight! They should be indoctrinated to become lying stealing, cheating Neo-conservatives!
Seriously, showing "Bowling" might be over the top, unless the instructor also provides an alternate view or arguments. Still, (if this is high school) the kids should be able to discern for themselves if a teacher is spouting BS or not. I wanted my daughters to be exposed to as many diverse views as possible.
I remember all the propaganda my history teachers tried to sell me about Vietnam when I was in high school. I didn't buy it. It never bothered me when a teacher had different views than me.

I'd re-draft the letter to make the tone more calm and convincing, perhaps mentioning some of the factual problems with "Bowling for Columbine" and instances of Moore's off-the-wall partisan statements. Extra exclamation points won't sway people over to your way of thinking.

If this is legitimate, please name the town involved, the school, and maybe even the teacher. A few letters to the editor then might be in order from others. Seems a little vague. Oh it is legitimate! The town is Hinton, WV. The paper is the Hinton News, editor Fred Long hinton1000@aol.com The high scool is Summers County High School. I will be there bright and early tomorrow!

I'm all for letting the school know how you feel, and I support you in that. Good luck. I hope you will do it in a way that does not severely embarrass your wonderful child. I know mine would be horrified at the thought of her mother making 'a scene'.

As soon as you start calling people commies you argument loses effectivness. It makes you look a bit unbalanced. Especially since she hasn't actually given your kids any communist literature. She's just disagreed with your party politics. And NO teacher liberal or right wing, should EVER try to "educate" the kids in accordance with their political views...she should be fired.

Yea, I agree. I figured that the poster got the point:)
I recall one of my dads rants against some state board or such when I was a kid. Well, dad used the word "niggardly" in his letter. The pencil pushers had a fit. And this was 20 years ago.
Dad, of course, didn't have a racist bone in his body. He just had/has an excellent vocabulary.

Demand equal time - some fiercely conservative video - like the one about Waco or Ruby Ridge.

She does sound disgraceful? And to say nothing ever happened to white women during the Civil War? Perhaps she needs to read a few autobiographies of the time. Sadly, it happened on both sides.
To: countrydummy
*LOL* I love it. I almost thought you stole one of my letters I was writing to ny senator.

I am just wondering what her age is, what level of school it is, and in what class it is being shown. (All will be relevant in couching your letter more efficiently and precisely.)
I'd be happy to re-draft for you.
