United Peace and Justice and 100 more groups are planning a convergence that is intended to embarrass and upset the families of our troopsAccording to the United for Peace and Justice website (unitedforpeace.org), they're planning antiwar protests all over the country. You can click on your state on the drop-down menu and find out whether there's one near you. There will be one in a town near me. They're planning to march from a church about a mile to a local university (why I pinged you, hacksaw, I'm talking about your alma mater!). I'm thinking of standing somewhere along the route, quietly holding a sign that points out the following:
Lives saved thanks to Allied intervention in Iraq:
Lives Saved: 47724
Refugees Averted: 171876
(Numbers are recalculated daily; info available at this site

My son (now a Seaman in the Navy stationed at Charleston) and a couple of his friends were there, too. Cold it was but we had them outnumbered.
I liked the "We love Saddam" chant.

Anti-war protests in every state are insignificant.
The Fayetteville FReep/Counter protest has a unique purpose.
Antiwar protests at Fort Bragg are intended to insult and humiliate the families of our troops. These heartless commies will subject the children of our soldiers to nudity and will "inform them" that their parents are murderers. Their goal, of course, is to break the moral-will of our troops.
Please keep in mind that the families are virtually in a defenseless position, with their loved ones away fighting to defend America.
Because our troops need to know that their families are loved and cared for, we must converge on Fayetteville on March 20 with FReepers from DC to Miami, and show them that we care and support the sacrifices that they are making.
Less we ever forget...

Latest word from here in DC is that there will probably be at least a couple of SUV loads of DC Chapter members making the road trip to Fayetteville.

We would like you all to stay Saturday, so that we can debrief after the FReep. Will you need hotel for Fri, Sat or Fri and Sat? There is a Motel 6, a Holiday Inn and a Sheraton within walking distance of each other (to suit any budget.) The lounges/restaurants are in the Holiday Inn and Sheraton.

It looks like they have cancelled the Fayetteville protest and only have the Charlotte one still scheduled. Looks as though they are concentrating on the NYC protest.

Remember peer pressure, group coercion, group think, and what the media shows has a huge effect on the common citizen. I agree with you in that aspect, but when you have members of the military coming up to you while you are FReeping these people and THANK YOU for supporting them, than you know you are reaching the right people. Oh, by the way, there weren't hundreds of thousands of A.N.S.W.E.R people at any of the FReeps that I attended against them.

Dixie,
Where did you see something that makes you think Fayetteville is cancelled?
They are still fighting to stop us from getting permits. As of yesterday afternoon, they told the chief of police that they were expecting a "very large turnout".

I went to the their website from the other thread and the only thing I saw was Charlotte for the 20th and NYC. It was late by the time I saw it so could conceivably have missed it. But the had everything listed by date.

That explains it, the website that was linked to the other thread is the A.N.S.W.E.R. site not the NC Peace Hub. That's for pointing that out to me.
Didn't get in until late last night for the TownHall Meet.
