Do we have any Private Investigators or people knowledgable about tracking down people?
I know this story is going to sound fishy, but it's the honest truth.
A friend of mine employed a woman for a number of years, and this woman has suddenly moved away and left no forwarding address, and my friend wants to get the last paycheck to her.
I tried a couple of web resources that I know of, but I fine about a dozen people with this woman's name in the state of Georgia (the woman's last known address was in GA)...
I have a name, previous address, SSN, and other info, but am not sure of the best way to go tracking this woman down so that she can get her money.
Any Freepers have any ideas?
Thanks!

It shouldn't be this hard to give money away. :)

Forward the check, made out to "CASH", to me and I'll see that she gets it.

Give this person's name to Reuters, and tell the reporters she has proof that Bush was AWOL. They'll take care of the rest.

I can't help but wonder why she would "suddenly" leave town without her final pay check.

If you have some info that isn't classified, like her DL number, you could contact the GA DMV.

Check with the state's labor/job service office, and explain the situation. They will advise you how long your friend needs to hold the money, if at all.

Save the money...........
Your friend has no obligation to track her down.(unless he is owed money?)
if she wanted her whereabouts known, she would have said something. IMHO

It will take a year, but she should contact her employer with an address to send her W-2 to so she can file income taxes. If he really wants her to have it, just hold the money until then and send it with the W-2.

Let her go man, you'll find someone else. ;)

Sure you aren't stalking her?

You found me! Just make out the check to BykrBayb, ....
But really. I agree with wirestripper in post 10. You have no obligation to track her down. I wouldn't spend any money doing that. You might check with your local paper and see if you can put an ad in for free.

Do not - I repeat : DO NOT get further involved in this !!
When people leave without their last paycheck it is often because:
1.They have come to an unfortunate end.
2.They are being stalked,or, perhaps sought-by the law,a persistent creditor,a court seeking to enforce a custody order.
3.They may have stolen money, or something else of value from the employer.
Believe me: If the woman wants her paycheck, she'll find a way to have it sent to her !
