The FBI official in charge of the probe into the deadly 2001 anthrax mailings said the investigation still has top priority among the bureau's unsolved cases, but he acknowledged the anthrax sender may never be caught.
"Despite our very, very, very best efforts, we still might not be able to bring it home," said Assistant Director Michael A. Mason, who heads the FBI's Washington field office, which is investigating the case.

There is no such thing as a "ricin vaccine." Ricin is a poison.

Something tells me there is a strong link between the 9-11 attackers and the anthrax attacks.

We have strict instructions as far as what not to talk about as far as anthrax goes of course, any discussion of Al-Qaeda or Iraq as the source would be considered as crazy as believing in John Doe #2 and could not be mentioned, regardless of the 1. Means, 2. Motive, and 3. Stated Intention (to revenge gulf war)

not to mention AQ's M.O. of using multiple, simultaneous attacks.

The WTC '93 bomb was laced with poison. It would only be natural to think 9/11 also had some nasty sting in the tail. AMERITHRAX is an amazing exercise in ignoring the elephant in the room.

What in the world would give you a crazy idea like that? (said with heavy sarcasm)

... he acknowledged the anthrax sender may never be caught. He's dead, Jim.

It's the tinfoil! I'm still not convinced that some foreigner, say from the middle east, misconstrued an order to target the American media. So he mails some anthrax to some outfit called American Media, Inc. in Boca Raton. How would this foreigner have heard of AMI? Maybe he was living nearby, say in Hollywood, FL at the time. Naw, too far fetched!

Have you checked out Ed Lake's website lately? He's getting depressed, because even he is starting to realize (albeit somewhat slowly and very reluctantly) that no perp is ever going to be brought to justice in these attacks. I mean, Mason's comments in this article are about as subtle as a sledgehammer upside the head, and even the thickest skulls out there are beginning to get the hint.
Also, it looks like Ross Getman's excellent web site has been removed, which is rather strange.

My mistake, it was down for just a short while, and it's back up again. Sorry for the confusion.

There's a lawsuit. The instructions are coming from the government's lawyers, not from anyone with investigative interest.
They have, in effect, given up.
