One of the most outspoken Boston clergy sex abuse victims, who said he had been molested by defrocked priest John Geoghan, was found dead early Monday, his lawyer said.
The cause of death for Patrick McSorley, 29, was not immediately announced. He nearly drowned in a river last year but denied he had attempted suicide.
His attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, said he received a call from police early Monday morning informing him that McSorley had died. Garabedian would not comment on the cause of death, saying not all members of McSorley's family had yet been notified.
McSorley often appeared at news conferences called by Garabedian, and criticized the archdiocese for shuffling abusive priests, including Geoghan, between parishes rather than removing them from positions where they would have contact with children.
The church settled with 86 plaintiffs, including McSorley, for $10 million in 2002. Geoghan was slain in prison last year
McSorley had a troubled life. He was arrested on drug charges in July, less than a month after he was pulled from the Neponset River. He was unconscious for nearly a week after he was pulled from the river and later denied it had been a suicide attempt.
Boston police would not immediately confirm McSorley's death, but a spokesman said they responded to a call about a body found in an apartment in Boston's North End.
Garabedian called McSorley "a loving son, a caring father and a hero to victims of clergy sexual abuse."

Ping. Anyone have a total "body count" yet?
MYSTERY SHROUDS PRIEST'S 'SUICIDE'
Police are investigating the strange death of a longtime priest - a leading critic of Albany Bishop Howard Hubbard, who is fighting charges of homosexual activity. The Rev. John Minkler, chaplain of the local Veterans Administration Hospital, was found dead Sunday afternoon in nearby Watervliet, amid indications that he committed suicide, according to a police official.
A note was found with the body - which WRGB-TV in Albany said indicated Minkler's "unhappiness with Hubbard's links to homosexuality" within the Albany Diocese.

Somehow I doubt we on earth are ever going to know.
May God rest his soul and all the others known only to Him who have been martyred in this cause.

They say teaching children to engage in homosexuality won't hurt them. They lie.
Homosexuals can't breed, so they need other peoples children to increase their numbers and political power.
If the children suffer because of it, it doesn't matter. Homosexuals can just grab more from the public school system. There's millions of children to be preyed upon there.

I doubt these men are Christians. They may be priests, but christians, probably not. Not all priests are, you know. Sad but true.

Very sad. Prayers for McSorley - this stuff does long term damage to its victims.
The Bishop of Hawaii was removed only after one of his victims, a few years after his ongoing molestation had actually ceased because he had gotten too old for the Bishop's tastes, tried to commit suicide. Actually, come to think of it, I believe he not only tried but succeeded.
The sexual abuse occurred at the seminary in San Francisco (which was also used by the Diocese of Honolulu at that time), where the Bishop used to take his boy of the moment. Of course, the seminary was known as the Pink Palace, so I guess it's not surprising that this was fine with them.
When you think of all the misery these horrible men have caused in the lives of people who were innocent enough to trust them...

"A baptized person separates himself from full incorporation in the Mystical Body by open and deliberate heresy, apostasy or schism."
- from the traditional Baltimore Catechism of the Catholic Church
That applies to bishops and priests as well. As well as liberal politicians and presidential candidates.

When you think of all the misery these horrible men have caused in the lives of people who were innocent enough to trust them... Luke 17:2
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Psalm 94:1
O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

And you are right, by the way. I always think of what Christ said about those who tempted "his little ones" into sin...
"And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea."
I pray there is Justice. I pray that Evil will be destroyed, wherever it is found. I pray that good people will have the brass to call a sin a sin wherever it is found.

Yes, I know we're not supposed to gloat at the thought of someone else's punishment, but it's still good to know that the Lord does have something unpleasant in mind for them.
They obviously don't believe in anything at all. Aren't they going to be surprised!

I've been flamed before over Catholic posts so I always have my suit ready just in case. Not all priests are Christian and unfortunately as well, not all ministers are. It's a matter of the heart and a devotion to Christ. It's a choice we make as you well know. Sin IS sin, no matter what denomination commits it. There are vile priests who molest children and there are ministers and boy scout leaders and and and who do the same. They cannot be called Christians when they do these dastardly deeds. They need our prayers.

Well and truely said. No group (blacks, Jews, whites, asians, poor, right, etc.) should be generalized as guilty about issue, but the ones responsible in this case and the ones who covered it up should be hung out to dry.

That's right. We're all born with a sinful nature and it takes great patience and self control (and the grace of God) to keep us from doing these things ourselves. Pedophiles need to be locked away from society where they can never see another child again. It tears my heart when I hear of young people being harmed like that by adults. So many children suffer untold horrors at the hands of their parents or other adults. They should ALL be put away.
