Thanks fer asking, though...MUD
In retrospect, inviting Goldi over to the Dose was a poor decision on my part, but Ms. Lucky certainly shouldn't be held off FR.com forever, just for posting her anti-Bush words on an inappropriate thread, imho. I don't agree with everything goldilucky says either, but we're far too anxious to rid this website of varying opinions.
FReegards...MUD
Well, THAT ticks me off!!
""President Clinton (news - web sites) was often known as the first black president. I wouldn't be upset if I could earn the right to be the second," Kerry told the American Urban Radio Network."
SHEEEESH...what a duplicitous LIAR!!
MUD
FReegards...MUD
She has, huh.
"I don't agree with everything goldilucky says either, but we're far too anxious to rid this website of varying opinions."
While I agree with both your points, it's also important to remember we're *not* in Kansas anymore, too.
That fact has been made quite plain to all for good, bad or indifferent.
My reaction has been to cut down dramatically posting here (which I'm absolutely certain delights management to no end) as well a couple other expression(s) I employ to cast my vote showing my dissatisfaction.
Be that as it may, it's the old man's place & that's that.
eh?
Still, I really dislike seeing her -- or any other living soul for that matter including my dear friend "Bad Joe" -- forced into going to that cheap, dreadful "off-the-shelf" software, restrictive, oppressive, Leper Colony-like place, too.
I really, sincerely do.
No one should have to face such a horrible fate.
But then again & in all honesty she'll be in good company over there; and, may find she actually prefers it to the constrictions of this site.
...God works in strange ways.
That is not the point here. You and Goldi know very well the premise of The Daily Dose.
Free Republic is a big site that can accomodate other threads.
The folks that regularly post on The Daily Dose are well aware of the dissenting opinion about W here, and they are never hesitant to engage in debate about that.
But going on The Daily Dose with the intent, unintentional or not, to disrupt, was wrong.
Goldi can make up another name and return. This after all is the Net.
I myself looked forward to her posts. She's no doubt an intelligent lady.
Maybe the different factions here can one day decide to stop being so belligerent and try to respect each other's opinions.
We are all on the same boat. But a lot of us have a different idea of how we proceed to the promised land.
SHEEESH, yer awful harsh, ain't you?! Was the early FR.com community described in a like matter a few years back? LP's got their share of nuts, but it's also got a lotta folks who usedta be great FReepers.
FReegards...MUD
I'm really not sure Goldi understood the ramifications of her actions...I thought her visit might spice up the dose a bit, but she was spoutin' Lib'ral Anti-Bush agitprop...then the DoseDefenders swooped into action and she was called a "Moby" and a "troll" and all sorts of things I know she is not. She actually believes a lot of this conspiracy stuff, and doesn't like Bush at all, but she's definitely a good conservative in a whole lotta ways.
"The folks that regularly post on The Daily Dose are well aware of the dissenting opinion about W here, and they are never hesitant to engage in debate about that. But going on The Daily Dose with the intent, unintentional or not, to disrupt, was wrong."
That wasn't my intent, and I don't believe Goldi necessarily wanted to "disrupt"...but it definitely wasn't appreciated.
"Goldi can make up another name and return. This after all is the Net."
That's a no-no...she oughtta wait a bit, then petition fer reinstatement of "goldilucky"...she's earned that ScreenName and oughtta honor it.
"Maybe the different factions here can one day decide to stop being so belligerent and try to respect each other's opinions."
I'd like that...we need to be able to disagree without becoming disagreeable!!
FReegards...MUD
I doubt that it was Lib'ral agitprop, but rather anti-New World Order JBS POV's.
There wuz certainly some "No WMDs", "illegal war" krap, not unlike that which you'd hear the Lib'rals spew.
"...anti-New World Order JBS POV's."
Yeah, some of that fer sure, but that's goldilucky...she's gotta lotta Buchanan in her views, and she ain't afraid to argue against Milquetoast Moderatism, but it wasn't enuff to warrant a long suspension, imho.
FReegards...MUD
Not a'tall, not a bit, actually quite restrained. :o)
"Was the early FR.com community described in a like matter a few years back?"
Ahhh, I see.
The ol' "Rosa Parks" compario, eh?
HA!!
Well if it'll work for the queers, why not.
"LP's got their share of nuts, but it's also got a lotta folks who usedta be great FReepers."
"Great FReepers"?
Let's look at the facts, BS aside, shall we?
Leperville's populated [today] by nothing *but* nuts & wouldn't even exist if it weren't for the defrocked Freepers who found refuge [there] after getting themselves expelled.
Incidentally, unless you just got off a turnip truck then surely you're aware most of those defrocked "Great FReepers" you're so fond of are still here, today -- against the wishes of management, I might add -- posting under aliases.
So "character" and/or "respect" are not the strong suit of these so-called "Great FReepers," is it? :o)
(So please, anytime you're ready kindly remove yer head outa your underside orifice, will you.)
The head flake at Leperville has emulated just *one* facet of FR, he passes the hat shilling for nickles & dimes but make no mistake, it's only so he & the bimbo he hooked up with can turn a profit for *themselves*.
The whateverhisnameis cretin couldn't care less about America, patriotism, or the direction of the country, not a twit. Period.
Yea there're some good people over at that hellhole of a place, & I could count 'em on my right hand if I had to, too.
But even then there'd always be the nagging question of "Why are [you] associating with such losers?" they'd have to answer.
OK?
You know I've had my beefs with the "old man" over the years but the fact is, neither the himbo *or* bimbo -- times ten -- running Leperville will ever equal *one* dried up pimple on Robinson's ass.
Now you go ahead & show me where I'm wrong about Leperville, it's leper-leaders or the ork-like losers who've congregated there.
Make my day.
And another thing, thank GOD there're still a few factions who are "belligerent," Mr.Mud.
Because in the final analysis it'll the "belligerent" factions who'll be the only ones possessed of the kind of balls it'll take to deal with the 'Rats on their own terms.
'Rats aren't going to *respect* the *men* of the right if they see 'em wearing panties & sounding like poor immitations of Neville Chamberlain.
Just what kind of repressed, reformulated, regurgitated hippy clap-trap psychobabble is that, anyway.
It sure in the hell ain't any kind of reality I've ever witnessed taking place in or prior to the 2004 political scene.
And let's face it, the "keyboard warriors" -- whose only real claim to fame is pushing around certain especially vulnerable gals? -- will head for the high grass like scalded cats the first instant lead ever started to fly, eh?
The nonbelligerents always have & always will bolt under fire, & that's one thing for damned sure.
Know what I mean, sonny?
Now it was YOU who drew the gal over to the Bot thread. (*brilliant*)
It was YOU who knew damned well what that woman was all about, what she'd likely say (given the obvious >doink!< nature of the thread) -- & why -- & also knew how she'd be recieved. (more *brilliance*)
YOU simply had to know so don't tell me you didn't or I'll really give you a what-for.
Stop trying to dump YOUR guilt on others for voicing their opin to YOU when YOU asked for it, capiche?
If there is a problem it's YOURS & from my POV there really isn't anything YOU can do about it now except fess up to what happened, take ownership for YOUR part, & deal with it.
...like any real man would.
"You know I've had my beefs with the "old man" over the years..."
He's had a few unkind words to lob my way as well.
"...but the fact is, neither the himbo *or* bimbo -- times ten -- running Leperville will ever equal *one* dried up pimple on Robinson's ass."
I assume the "himbo" is Arator, but who's this mysterious "bimbo"?!
"Now you go ahead & show me where I'm wrong about Leperville, it's leper-leaders or the ork-like losers who've congregated there. Make my day."
I don't get over to LP very often, and I post even less (probably ten posts over the last year)...still, I don't hold the place in near the level of disdain you do. Seems to me there are a lot of good patriots over there, even if some of them spend waaaay too much time and effort talkin' trash about FReeperdom. I understand yer "leper" analogy, but I don't perceive most of the LibertyPosters as the least bit "orc-like". I really don't understand why you are so nasty in describing them.
In fact, me thinketh thou protesteth too much, LP-TROLL!!

Dear Brad's Gramma, Ms. Goldilucky asked that I pass on her apologies for a mean-spirited post she sent your way a coupla weeks back. I'd like to add my apologies fer pinging Goldi to the Dose when I shouldda known her disappointment with some of the things Dubyuh's done would not be appreciated by the DailyDose regulars. Reckon I'm still a bit naive in believing that folks with varying viewpoints can talk through our differences if we leave the lines of communication open.
As Ms. Lucky said in the linked post, "If you and I thought alike, we'd have nothing to talk about. That's what makes America great. It was founded on individualism; not homogenized thinking!"

"The Clinton years could easily be considered the most unprincipled years of US China relations. Many decisions were made on a sheer political level without much consideration given to history. It was that low point, combined with dangerous outbursts from China, the Cox Report, Chinas emergence on the world economic stage, accusations of spying, biased intelligence reporting, and whole host of issues that inspired Congress to create the US China Commission. The reforms instituted largely tried to de-politicize internal dealings regarding China. In recent years it has gone from a personal attack fest to much more of an academic debate. In that professionally conducted academic debate there is strength."

"If not for a conservative magazine, the complete investigation into John Kerry's anti-war associate Al Hubbard and Hubbard's fabricated Vietnam War record would not have been published in 1971. Former CBS News reporter William Overend, a writer for the network's anchorman Walter Cronkite, investigated the military background claims of Hubbard, then executive director of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) and found the claims to be fraudulent. Hubbard had appeared with Kerry on NBC's Meet the Press on April 18, 1971 and was featured in Kerry's anti-war book The New Soldier. Overend's investigation into Hubbard revealed that Hubbard not only lied about his Air Force military rank, but also about his alleged war injuries and whether he even served in Vietnam. "As a liberally-oriented newsman, sympathetic to the Vietnam vets and impressed by Hubbard's leadership qualities, that came as something of a jolt," Overend wrote in 1971."
