[history]
ALEC Baldwin isn't suffering from any lack of self-esteem. In A&E's "Biography: Alec Baldwin," premiering tonight, the bombastic actor compares himself to Black Panther leader Eldridge Cleaver, who wrote "Soul on Ice." Baldwin recalls that when he was younger, "My dad said to me, 'If you were black . . . with your personality,' he said, 'Do you think you would be Martin Luther King, or would you be Eldridge Cleaver? Would you be patient and wise, and kind, and peaceful?' He said, 'Or do you think you'd really, really get out there and . . . exert yourself a little more in order to leverage change in our society?' And I knew the answer . . . I knew the answer was the latter."

I just posted this for the picture.
The bloviator all pigged out with his eyes disapearing into folds of fat, his cheek tattoo'd by broke blood vessels.
He looks like he is tuning up to play Teddy Kennedy in a movie produced by the Republican Party.

As I recall, Cleaver repented his radical life and became a Christian. If Baldwin is man enough to do that, I'll pay attention.

This guy showed up in my dream last night. I can't remember what the dream was about, but do remember thinking, "What the heck is this jerk doing in my dream?"

Asked if he would take the role, Smart Alec replied "I'll drive off that bridge when I come to it."

Heheheheheh....the Shadow knows.
He was very good in that, as well as Glengary Glen Ross, Malice and several others. There seems to be no correlation between acting ability and the worth of the person acting.
Not that there aren't "good people" acting.

Compares himself to Eldridge Cleaver? Uh.........no.
Black conservative ping
If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Entertainment Tonight mentioned he had "supervised" visitation with his 8 year old daughter......... Supervised? Anyone know why his time alone with his daughter would be under that type of restriction?

Before Eldridge Cleaver became a christian didn't he write about all sorts of distasteful things he was planning to do in Soul on Ice? Has this dolt ever read Soul on Ice to know if he wanted to be him?

I knew Jerry Butler had an album called Soul on Ice. I didn't know Cleaver wrote it.

Not only did Eldgridge Cleaver become a Christian after fleing Castro's Cuba but he also spent the rest of his life as a conservative Republican and ran for Congress as one.
