[history]
WASHINGTON -- Stephen Eckhardt was in the National Guard in 1968 when he was sent to Vietnam to run supplies into sniper-filled combat zones. Now he believes that service is being unfairly maligned.
Attacks by Democratic Party leaders on President Bush for his Vietnam-era service in the Air National Guard and questions of whether he fulfilled his requirements have angered former Guard members, like Eckhardt, who say some of the political jabs imply that anyone who served in the Guard was trying to avoid combat.

""I've never made any judgments about any choice somebody made about avoiding the draft, about going to Canada, going to jail, being a conscientious objector, going into the National Guard," Kerry said." Gee, you don't say Mr. noncommittal.

I sincerely hope all branches of the NG and their families remember this when they go to vote in the GE. Even if they don't like Bush, I hope they don't give Kerry their vote.

Two of my male cousins served in the PA National Guard during the Vietnam War. It was considered an honorable form of service. Now that Kerry and the Demopukes have maligned the Guard, stomping its image into the ground, they want to backtrack. Too late creeps! How do you think veterans of the Guard feel about your mudslinging?
I also had an uncle in the Guard in the early 70's and he was involved in cleaning up after a plane crash. He spent the day lifting bodies. The Guard is a necessary agency within each state.

Kerry, that pro-Nafta voter, is of two minds about everything. He liked Nafta, now he hates it. He maligns the Guard, now he says, that's not what I meant. A person that is "two-minded" on a consistent basis is an unstable individual and unworthy of the Presidential office.

I joined the ARNG in Wisconsin a year before I had to register for the draft. I did it because my Dad was in, my Uncles were in it, even my Aunt was a nurse in it. It was a tradition, not service avoidance.
I spent 25 years in the Guard, then another 7 in the USAR. It was all service, not avoidance.
Kerry is an opportunist and a traitor. The more I read about his "heroics", the more I see a phony. If America elects him as their leader, they are getting exactly what they deserve. And if ultra-pure conservatives stay home to "send a message to President Bush", and allow Kerry to be elected, they will be getting exactly what they deserve. And they will have earned the label "Traitor" just as Kerry did.
