[history]
WASHINGTON -- John F. Kerry spent more than he raised from donors last month as the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination relied on a $3.5 million infusion of personal cash to keep his campaign financially afloat.
Kerry raised about $4.1 million from contributors and spent $7.1 million, according to his campaign finance report for January, which was released yesterday.

Kerry's spending will become more important the longer it takes for him to be declared the presumptive nominee. GO EDWARDS! (Has Kucinich dropped out yet?)

This is SO great. These are that stats you need to be looking at. At this point in the race Kerry should be swimming in cash, from small contributors. This means he is not getting the support from the little people ( like us) . Which means this bush 48% kerry 47% is total and complete BS

The title they should have used is:
Kerry's wifes cash keeps campaign in black...
To: jwalburg
Title should be:
Kerry becomes increasingly dependent on Teresa's good favor.

Edwards is about to get an infusion of Federal matching funds, isn't he? Of course, Kerry gets none! This is another favor Howard Dean has done for us!

Kerry will be Bob Dole Version 2.0.

What the hell has Bush spent $41 Million on, my God that's almost as much as Howard Dean with even worse results.
To: isthisnickcool
I'm not sure, but I don't believe Theresa can dump cash into his campaign. I think she is limited to $2000.00 in direct donations, just like anyone else. Her money is her money, not his money or even their money.

Worse than Dean?!!? Last time I checked, Bush was still in the race. And there is a lot more to campaigning then T.V. ads. $41 million goes a long way toward building a get out the vote effort.

ROFLMAO, I'm amused how they titled this article. If it was George W. Bush who had to mortgage his Ranch and later add more cash into his campaign coffers. The headline would read "Bush camp is in the Red, uses his own money to stay afloat as support dwindles"

I was watching the Sunday morning shows and there were two democrat governors and two republican governors. The dems were going on and on about how awful the economy is and the pubs were both saying their states were recovering nicely. Did they ever stop to think the reason their states are doing so poorly is because they have democrats for governors?

Thanks. I imagine Kerry can use that on his stump speech to explain his lack of donations.

Yup a regular joe like the rest of us. I remember the time I got in a cash flow situation and had to mortgage the yacht, the jet, and the english manor just to pay for my caviar..........
