I can imagine as the scuds were flying toward their large cities in Gulf 1, that somewhere in an underground hanger an F-15I was loaded and engines running - waiting for the relaease code once chem/bio war warhead was confirmed......
One does not set off nukes in ones own backyard - very untidy. Neutron devices, maybe.

Leasing makes more sense....I mean, why have to constantly be working on upgrades when you can have the very latest....with no trade-in problems. I mean...it's just a simple business proposition. </ sarcasm>

Well, nobody is going to give accurate figures to Drudge. And the business about Rumsfeld is nothing but Drudge's take on a book.
The usual figure is several hundred. That seems likely enough to me. But nobody knows for sure outside the intelligence agencies.

Before they're willing to use nukes, I heard they were going to try pork laden daisy cutters first.

al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein: Rumsfeld changed the rules of fighting against terrorists, focusing on one primary goal-killing them. Rumsfeld streamlined rules of engagement allowing soldiers on the ground to act quickly on new information. Rumsfeld also moved new special operations units under the control of the Pentagon. The book reveals how one such unit, the secret Grey Fox, could turn on cell phones without the enemy knowing it, allowing the CIA Predator to use the phone signal for a missile strike.
This policy must have come after they had OBL in a Predators's sights...and couldn't get clearance to take the shot.

Just enough to make the entire Arab world glow in the dark and make Islam extinct if Israel is ever destroyed. A nice balance.

Palestinians seem to enjoy blowing themselves up... perhaps they would take it as a gesture of good will if the Israelis were to employ their arsenal to the end of aiding them in that office?

Jews can get money and Diamonds..but they struggle to get enriched Uranium?
Laughing...Israel has hundreds of nuked arty from 105mm up to 203mm for their sat guidance Long tube M-109 howitzers.
Then thier is the MLRS's..the Cruise missiles..the airdrop..and multi stage missile launch series.
80 nukes....thats the number yearly being reconfigured from old stock and micro boosted ..then assigned to new ordinance : )

Someone with a better memory might chime in, but I vaguely remember an article posted a few days/weeks ago that talked about the terrorist instruction of removing batteries from their cell phones when they were done with a call. This made no sense to me then, but now I understand. The terrorists already know this is possible.

Shows you that all the nukes in the world can not solve conflict.
No but they can deter conventional military action.
So far there is no cure for conflict that I am aware of short of the grave.

The issue with Israel isn't capability. It's willingness
I do now that early in the Yom Kippur War in 73, when it looked like Israel might lose, that option was about to be exercised.

It's not the size, but how you use it. So I keep telling myself.
