Howlin, who are those sweet pups? I thought Spot was born in 1989? That pic says 1997?
Is that the picture of Spot? And the 1997 just the posting date of the picture?

Oh wait, I see. 1997 was the copyright date of the picture. I get it.
Disregard.

Spaniels, retrievers and setters--the greatest! I would have gotten a golden, but they're a bit too big. Spotty here looks a little smaller than my springer. But mine is a liver-spot just like Spotty.
These pics show Spotty clipped most of the time, but they grow a pretty long coat.

Love the Goldens and they're such cute fuzzballs when they're puppies.

Vito was a perfect name for my dog. He was a mixed black cocker spaniel. Kind of on the small side but that didn't stop him from chasing a group of deer into the woods....only to come back panting and looking at you as if he did something wonderful.
My most favorite memory of him was when he was just a pup. My hubby and I had just been married about a month or two and we were in our apartment one night having supper. Well, Vito being the spunky little devil he was, jumped onto my lap and dove into the mashed potatos I had on my plate. It happened so fast that I didn't know what to do. As soon as I figured out what was going on, I pushed him off of my lap and started to yell at him.....he looked up at me with mashed potatos all over his face and I busted out laughing.
After that....he had me wrapped around his little paw!

Springers will always dive, they have webbed toes (really)-- he's just looking where to splash hardest.

I have a 13year old dog, and I know 'that day' is coming all too soon ... even if it's 5 years from now, there is less time remaining than we've had together.
There will be a huge hole in my life when she's gone. You can tell by the way the Bush's interact with the critters that they do love them. A very sad day, my heartfelt sympathy to the Bush's.

Your Rainbow Bridge post made me cry for lost pets! Hopefully....

Awww. This is sad news, always very hard to lose a beloved pet. I just heard that the Pres had to put Spottie down after a series of strokes. That is what a responsible pet owner does, when there is no hope for a happy life. It's what we owe them, to not let them suffer just for our own comfort, and it's TOUGH TO DO!
The President again demonstrated his responsibility to another living creature in this world. He didn't shirk or shrink from the responsibility. (Unlike those white-trash "predecesors" who will remain nameless in the same post as Spottie is being talked about)
I'm sure there will be an empty place in their home for quite a while. Spot runs and plays within the gaze of the Most High. She's at peace.

What emotion. Mr CGG turns 70 next month and his constant companion is his blind Springer Spaniel, Bogart. They are ALWAYS together. Bogies rides everywhere in the car--even goes to church and waits in the car.
Bogie sleeps nuzzled up to Mr. CGG. It won't be pretty when Bogie goes.
To: Mamzelle
Yep. Springers love to be in the water! Spot was no exception.

Eh...has anyone ever mentioned that you need to get a life? My 10 year old brother is more mature than you are.
