Vietnam Vets Blow Kerry's Hypocrisy

He boasts on an armed services record on behalf of the United States of America. Yet he was anti-US when in the armed services. Hypocrisy in its most elementary form. No wonder the Vietnam Vets are not tolerating John Forbes Kerry’s hypocrisy harangue stretched out.

He said in his address to Yale University classmates at the 1966 graduation: "The United States must, I think, bring itself to understand that the policy of intervention that was right for Western Europe does not and cannot find the same application to the rest of the world."

According to Washington Times’ Charles Hurt, Kerry, in the next five years, called US political leadership "deserters" and "war criminals" because of their efforts concerning the Vietnam War. He went on to characterize US troops in Vietnam as unfeeling murderers. He also excited protesters in the US by throwing away war medals — those very same medals 13 years later he would reveal didn’t belong to him.

Hypocrisy. Political opportunism. Double-tongued. That’s Kerry.

According to Hurt, Kerry said in 1971: "’These are the commanders (top commanders of US forces in Vietnam) who have deserted their troops. And there is no more serious crime in the laws of war."

Kerry must conclude that Americans have a short memory. Also, that the young have no knowledge of the Vietnam War, therefore he can recite whatever he wants to their innocent ears. Consequently, he goes on and on about his Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. This he considers the base for his political career. More of such self-stroking has been increased to a screeching pitch since becoming a Democratic candidate for the US Presidency.

"’As I look around at my crewmates and the veterans here today, I am reminded that the best lessons I learned about being an American came in a place far away from America — on a gunboat in the Mekong Delta with a small crew of volunteers. I saw courage both in the Vietnam War and in the struggle to stop it. I learned that patriotism includes protest, not just military service.’"

There are those listening to his lauding himself for brave service who do not believe he was injured to the extent he claims when he was shipped back home early. Further, there is suspicion concerning his valor that yielded five medals come upon within five months.

"’If I got three Purple Hearts for three scratches, I'd be embarrassed,’ said Ted Sampley, who fought in Vietnam and publishes U.S. Veteran Dispatch. He remembers soldiers turning away awards for minor injuries."

It was when Kerry returned home that he was given a desk job in New York. That prompted his traveling about in antiwar rallies, championing war protesters to keep on keeping on.

"’He gets this cushy job in his hometown, goes around protesting the war, then asks to get out six months early,’ Mr. Sampley said. ‘What regulations were busted when Kerry — as a Naval officer and still on the payroll — was flying around protesting the war? And who had to stand in and fight for John Kerry after he left six months early?’"

With that, Sampley started the Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry. And so the beat goes on and on and on—rightfully so.

"Last night Chris Matthews lambasted an anti-Kerry guest by yelling "Were you in Vietnam? How do you know [Kerry was lying]? Were you in Vietnam!?" I saw the interview. Matthews has no right to "slam" someone just because they weren't in Nam. Matthews dodged the draft himself by joining the Peace Corps. I wrote Matthews about the interview. And I told Matthews that Kerry was a lying traitor. I hope I get sued. LOL I'll look forward to my and Kerry's appearance in court under oath. His guest may have not been in Nam but I was. And I can say unequivocally that there were no "mass atrocities" in Viet Nam. Kerry is a bald faced lying traitor. PERIOD! Semper Fi, Kelly

I was shocked that the guest didn't just retort with "Kerry was in Vietnam for less than six months. What did he actually see?"

There were so many ways to cut Matthews to ribbons during that discussion. Very disappointing. Another Republican with no cajones.

Kerry's recent quest steps on all the Vietnam Vets . . . The National Guard . . . Who's next in line?

Anyone and everyone. As Rush said, Kerry is the kind of person who gets ahead by stepping on those who can lift him up.

Last night Chris Matthews lambasted an anti-Kerry guest by yelling "Were you in Vietnam? How do you know [Kerry was lying]? Were you in Vietnam!?"

I saw that too. The guy was Charlie Black, an old GOP hand from the Reagan administration. I have to say Chris was rude to everyone last night, but to Black especially.

Actually someone pointed out that if Kerry really did get off that boat to commit or even witness war crimes, he was violating orders.

Precisely. And how any American Vet could vote for the ilk of a Kerry, is beyond me.

Well I challenged Matthews on Kerry's lying and we'll see if I get an invite on the program. I won't hold my breath. LOL Funny how the lying liberals all want to talk about Bush and Kerry's military service during Nam but they were deaf and dumb about THREE TIME DRAFT DODGER KLINTON! Matthews as we all know is the "poster boy" for the DNC and the "water boy" for the liberals on cable now. NBC even gave him his own program on weekends. I use to tape "Softball" but I don't even do that now. I was surfing yesterday when I just happened on the interview.

IMHO, it was less a matter of rudeness than a continued effort to cover up for the entire legacy of lying, of which Matthews himself is a part.

I would have responsed, "Chris, more than 1 million Vietnamese have immigrated to America since 1975, yet their newspapers are calling Kerry a traitor regarding his VVAW activities. Why is that?"

Why arn't there people screeming to see Kerry's medical records. I want to know what his "WAR WOUNDS" consisted of.>>>>>

Really. I hear two were known as "bandaid wounds". But this information should be readily available. Ask Chris Matthews, Paul Begala, Bill Press or Judy Woodruff to look into it! ;)

Yeah, I agree. I always detect a bit of guilt on Chris' part when he starts these conversations. I think he's hoping that voters will look at Kerry as someone who's 'died' for the sins of Chris and the other liberals who fled the country rather than go to Vietnam.

"I committed the same kinds of atrocities as thousands of others," he said, "in that I shot in free-fire zones, fired .50-caliber machine bullets, used harass-and-interdiction fire, joined in search-and-destroy missions and burned villages."

- John F. Kerry, on Meet the Press, May 6, 2001

I was there too, 101st Div, probably up near where you were in I Corp in '69-70. I saw no atrocities and heard of none. Contrary to my early experience in Tam Ky (near My Lai) where the VC committed atrocities on GIs. Kerry is not my candidate.
BTW, I turned down a PH for cuts and bruises when I was blown down a gravel hill for the concussion of a mortar round, no shrapnel, so it didn't count in my book.

Kerry left Vietnam early after getting three dubious wounds. Does anyone know the fate of the guy who took his place?

"I committed the same kinds of atrocities as thousands of others," he said, ...

1) Can you be a war hero and a criminal at the same time?

and

2)What does that make Milosevich? (certainly not a war hero but should he stand trial? war is hell)

Funny how there has been no comment by former Sen. Bob Kerry of Nebraska? This probably was why he dropped out of running anymore.

It's more accurate to say, "Another Republican who never learned to street-fight with Socialists."

There are almost no GOP-friendly pundits , or anyone lese, who can go smash-mouth with the Left. By contrast, all of their shock troops are well-trained in the art.

And that is yet another fact, that spells doom for the Right come November.
