I was there too, 101st Div, probably up near where you were in I Corp in '69-70. I saw no atrocities and heard of none. Contrary to my early experience in Tam Ky (near My Lai) where the VC committed atrocities on GIs. Kerry is not my candidate.
BTW, I turned down a PH for cuts and bruises when I was blown down a gravel hill for the concussion of a mortar round, no shrapnel, so it didn't count in my book.

Welcome home, Ranger! Kerry was just telling "war story" lies...there were no "mass atrocities" in Nam by Americans. PERIOD! Semper Fi, Kelly

My dad is a WW II vet. He was shot and spent a long time in the hospital.
He refused a purple heart. He told the officer trying to give it to him
that he'd been biten by a bear. (At least it wasn't a moose.)
He's 79 now, and still taking his bride of 57+ years out dancing twice a week.
We just don't build tough guys like that anymore.

:BTW, I turned down a PH for cuts and bruises:
Same here caught a bullett or rock fragment in the forhead who knows. Hurt a bit and bleed like hell, but just got on with the biz. Jeez what a bunch of whiners.
