Actually it *does* work ... how many campus activists have gotten callow University admins to back down? Think about Buchanan in 1992 'scaring' America with "gay marriage, women in combat" and the Democrats derided him!!!

The Gays know that being outrageous has not hurt their cause in the past ... why should it hurt now? Being outrageous, in your face, rude and demanding is "how its done".

I just wonder: WHAT COULD WE CONSERVATIVES DEMAND IN THE SAME WAY?

DECLARE 1 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS AS DEPENDENTS ON MY 1040 IRS FORMS?

DEMAND A FAIR SHAKE IN THE UNIVERSITY? 50% REPUBLICAN QUOTA FOR PROFESSORS?

From the link Drudge just posted:

"Our civilized society and legal system is based upon a respect for and adherence to the rule of law. The City and County of San Francisco's unfortunate choice to disregard state law and grant marriage certificates to gay couples directly undermines this fundamental guarantee," Schwarzenegger wrote. "As Attorney General, you have the authority to take legal action to require the City and County of San Francisco to comply with the laws of the State."

Schwarzenegger was scheduled to appear at the California Republican Party's convention Friday night, and his spokesman said the governor planned to touch on the recent events in San Francisco in his speech to party members.

"You have, at this point, nearly two weeks of flouting of state law. The governor feels that we've come to a point where we're starting down a dangerous path and it leads to anarchy at some point," said Rob Stutzman, Schwarzenegger's communications director. "It's time for this to end."

There needs to be a big email campaign to the governor of Calif, the media, etc.Instead of just talking about this here, we need to let our voices be heard.Until we do, they will think we are willing to go along with this.

Ha! Let them try getting any Southern state (other than possibly Florida) to recognize the sodomite marriages and they'll hear the distinct sound of both horrified gasps and incredulous laughter coming from the good folks south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Do san francisco homosexuals now have the ability to file for a fiance visa for a foreigner to come to SF and get married?

Does the IRS and Feds have a prepared policy for this? (I know they reject Canadian homosexual marriages)

"Do you think Americans should be allowed to marry Californians?"

That's hilarious! Except of course to our great Freepers in Cali and of course because the Mother Ship is in the thick of that state's fog.

I agree with you in Cali, but not in Mass. A Mass same-sex marriage will be perfectly legal unless the legislature addresses this.

Anyway, in Cali, the same sex marriages are illegal and against the law. That being said, if a state court finds the law illegal, then they are married. No magic required.

These needs to be settled as a state constitutional matter, and maybe as a federal constitutional marriage.

Now there's an interesting Constitutional argument! We think no state can secede. But does the Constitution permit the US to force a state out of the union? Never thought about that.

Agreed, but remember that Bush has come out strongly in favor of a Constitutional Amendment affirming marriage while Kerry has been wishy-washy on the subject.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger ordered California's attorney general Friday to take legal action to stop San Francisco from granting marriage licenses to gay couples.

In a letter to Attorney General Bill Lockyer, Schwarzenegger directed the state's top lawyer "to take immediate steps" to get a definitive court ruling declaring what the city is doing to be illegal.

Lockyer has been a loose cannon...what will he do?

They can't possibly think that will work, do they?

They are Liberal and in love, of course they think it will work. And if it doesn't well at least we shook the breeders up a little.

The SF activists should be put in jail, but no one is touching them. They violated CA law and the libs are conveniently ignoring it...even worse than that...they're flaunting it. They belong in jail.

Well didn't you know that the idiotic mayor consulted all in the demoncraptict party before he did this, according to the slimey sf chronicle, he talked to his sec. of state in kaly, attorney general of kaly, pelosi, fiensteieiein and terry mc auful, chairman of the demoncraptic party BEFORE HE DID THIS! they are all in kahoots with this, as well as the so-called-judges that said "we like homosexual marriages in Kali" F*@k them all!
