I'm glad you keep posting all those quotes from homosexual activists. Maybe it'll finally sink into some peoples' heads that the gay agenda isn't about gays "being left alone to do what they want in the privacy of their bedroom". It's about them forcing society to bow to their deviancy, it's about stifling disagreement with them, it's about them forcing all of our cherished institutions to change to accommodate them, and it's about them having access to our kids.

Yep! Kerry, Edwards, and many other 'Rats will use the phony "I'm personally opposed to gay marriage" and "I support states' rights" arguments to try to con the voters.
The activist nature of the leftist judiciary allows them to attempt this fraud. Kerry and Edwards both know they will never be called upon to vote directly in favor of gay marriage. The Senate's presiding officer isn't going to say "All those in favor of Senate Bill 3975 to legalize homosexual marriages nationwide say aye, all those opposed say nay." The homosexual "marriage" agenda is being imposed by the unelected and unaccountable courts, not via the legitimate legislative process.
All Kerry & Edwards have to do is stop any bill which might block the courts from imposing homo "marriage". They can do this while claiming to oppose these "marriages" on a "personal" basis, and while offering phony reasons for their stance. Such as when Kerry, Edwards, and even Barney Frank complained that a Federal Marriage Amendment would interfere with states' rights, as if they've ever cared about that in the past, and as if they don't know full well that without such an amendment the courts will eventually issue a judicial fiat imposing gay "marriage" nationwide (in violation of states' rights).
So to truly understand what Kerry and Edwards are saying on this issue, one has to understand that both are being completely dishonest. Once anyone realizes that, they're free to disregard them as lying con artists and can move on to more rational options!

I would expect that the Defense of Marriage Act would be challenged on US Constitutional grounds once a couple married in one of the same-sex married states (like Mass) moves to another state that doesn't recognize same-sex marriage. That state would probably elect to exercise its rights under the DOMA, and the couple will cry foul.
Then it will work through the fed courts, each deciding if the DOMA violates the equal protection clause of the USC.
A constitutional amendment would settle it, though - an amendment can't be unconstitutional, by definition, though I put nothing over our activist judge friends.
That's how I see it - I am an attorney but Con Law is not my forte. Maybe another Freeper can do better.

Check out this thread, about what homosexuals are doing in the shcools, and in my comment I put a link to a great website with a lot of resources detailing exactly how the "gay" agenda is turning the schools into their personal petri dish, but also books on how parents can protect their children from this onslaught.

I just posted this comment on another thread, I thought you'd like it:
The homosexual activists and "gay" rights people want homosexual marriage for one reason, and they have stated it themselves.
They want to destroy morality and the natural family, because those are obstacles to their "free-wheeling" enjoyment of wild promiscuous sex, and an obstacle to wholesale indoctrination and recruitment of fresh meat - OUR children.
And leftists have adopted this issue as their own, even though homosexuals are such a tiny percentage of the population for a couple of reasons - if "gay" sex is ok, then the less colorful (or distasteful) sexual immorality that they indulge in is by contrast moral rectitude. Also, the breakdown of the family and moral values helps usher in societal breakdown, thus furthering their socialist agenda.
It's really very simple.

This state will never accede to Calipornia laws about gay marriage! They might get the Red states, but the rest will rebel.

Let's not forget that Willie Brown was a Rev. Jim Jones groupie. He defended Jones even after the murder/suicides. At one time prosecutors, cops, San Francisco Mayor Macone, the late Harvey Milk and others were in Rev. Jim's pocket.
As for Newsom, I saw him in one clip and the word slimy came to mind. Perhaps he has a personal interest in gay marriage. Incidentally, his wife (a prosecutor or exprosecutor) is an anchor on Court TV.

Yes, the two candidates for the SF election, Newsom and Gonzalez, where Slimy and Slimier. You should have seen footage of all the liberal women falling all over Gonzalez. God, it was pathetic. Mr. "I-wear-an-ascot-I'm-half-french."
Yuk.
