This gay marriage thing is gonna cost the Democrats, big time. republicans are clear on this issue, but this is not a Bush problem as O'Reilly would like to think it is. President Bush has done more to fight this culture war than some will give him credit for.

So, why don't you get a group of conservatives to go to the SF city hall with your pets, lamps, grandmothers and favorite blankets and demand marriage licenses also? If enough people showed up trying to "marry" their "life partners" of different absurd extremes, maybe the officials would begin to see the problem.

O'Reilly's opening monologue (Talking Points) is worth watching even if you don't like the rest of the show.

Have to give O'Reilly credit here. He has been banging this issue harder than most conservatives. O'Reilly is a populists, but at least he stands up for his views. Too many politicians are MIA, but we kind of expected that from Arnold.

A lady called in to Rush today with an idea I thought was pretty good. Rush didn't quite get it, but anyway, her idea was for conservative mayors across the country to start skirting abortion laws and shutting down abortion clinics, Planned Parenthood, etc. Wouldn't that cause a hullabaloo if even one did that!

I wonder what Dembucraps and queers (I know redundant) would do if Bush just quietly issued an Executive Order banning Gay marraiges. ;-)

I listen to Rush everday, and he has been hammering the same issue. Rush isn't a moderate. And well, O'Reilly, he just can't make up his mind on politics.
To: skyman
I share your view on O'Reilly's take on this issue, except for trying to bring President Bush into this state issue. It is clearly a matter for the govenator to handle, and he is awol.

I'll tell you what, I've been looking at web sites for small towns in S. Utah and N. Ariz. today. You probably can guess what is on my mind. I always told myself I would stick it out here and fight the Left to the bitter end, but I am getting tired. I want to experience what I knew as a child once again. I realize that this $#$& will eventually reach other places, but I think it would be cool, for example, to live in a small city where the primary industry is design and manufacturing of high quality fire arms (ooops, almost gave it away there ... some will already know which one it is!.....). At very least I can live in a place for at least a few more decades where English is spoken widely, and where real marriage is still the norm. These are dark days.

I wonder what would happen if a pair of identical twins wanted to get married in SF? I think they would allow it if they were the same sex but wouldn't if the were male/female twins because of reproduction issues.
I think we should laugh at them instead of sending in an army right now. Arrest the politicians that are breaking the law and let California boot out the judges who refuse to abide by the law ( Rose Bird style ).
No need to worry about the "marriages" because they are as non-binding as when a little girl grabs a little boy and hauls him off to a pretend wedding with a pretend pastor.

O'Reilly is a blowhard windbag if he is against you and a thoughtful provocatuer if he is for you. Take your pick he fits the "BILL" for both.

My thoughts:
Everyone has been calling them illegal gay marriages, when in fact all they are are marriage ceremonies. They don't mean a thing. Wait until they file as married with the IRS.
The real issue, if they want to pursue it, is to pass a law that makes men and women the same and subject to the same laws. Essentially there would be no such thing as sex.
If they want to do it legally now, all they have to do is have a gay man marry a lesbian. No Problem.
The irony is that if they passed a law legalizing same sex marriages, then they would have to create a new catagory for married men & women, because that is the structure of society and society must protect its continuation, as it has for centuries. All the laws that were passed in the past by legislatures would likely have been different if they thought they would apply to gay/lesbian couples.

The gay marriage issue touches on the governator's social liberal side so that's all he could muster. We should be grateful for small favors?
