Yes, the problem with "free" trade is it's a one-way street - everyone else's products coming in. But when we want them to buy our products -- no-can-do. So "free trade" isn't free. In fact, it isn't even trade. "Trade" assume back and forth -- which this isn't. Then there's the question of whether an American earning $17 an hour should compete with an Asian earning $1 an hour. The day will come, and it's not too far off, when our lowered wage rates and reduced employment will not sustain a market here.

Too true, H.F.

Jobs (sources of wealth) allowed to leak away for the enrichment of short-term profiteers, billions of dollars permanently removed from our economy by remunerative illegals, the illegals themselves forcing down wages and removing incentives for innovation while perpetuating corruption. Billions more lost due to unreported wages and society made to shoulder the costs of services.

The center can not hold and occasional tax breaks will not bandage the hemorrhaging. Protectionism is not evil, it is necessary when we're getting hosed from all sides.

Also notice with the problems with the Pennslyvania chicken farms, over 70,000 of them slaughtered, I think we are at 13 countries anxious to ban it, which is having a very silent impact on the economy already and Russia made a big todo over banning it recently.

BEFORE you vote to reelect your Senator, copy what you just said and put it on the visor of your car. Show your appreciation for NAFTA with your vote!
