I don't necessarily agree with Hal either, but what do you mean by this slur?

Hal has been married three times. The "Jesus Movement," an astonishing work of grace around the year 1970, energized millions of young Christians to a radical commitment, a blazing zeal, an eagerness to re-think everything in terms of one's allegiance to the King. This movement, so full of hope, vision, and power, was aborted when it was channeled off into the nihilistic dead-end of apocalyptic hysteria. Hal played a major role in aborting the Jesus Movement. I speak as an eye-witness.

Not to be technical, but even scripture differentiates divorce from polygammy, and since the term "abortionist" in our language almost always refers to the biological kind (and a synonym for "murder" in Christian eyes) calling Hal an abortionist is a lie, not worthy of a Christian, and actually legal liabel, since its in writing.

Disagree with the man's content, but please don't smear him personally.

As a divorcee, he wouldn't be an elder in my church, but neither would I sanction his slander.
