Do I understand from your post # 70 that you favor this type of legislation?

I-95W a program of convenience started and expanded in the 1990's. Canadians don't need actual proof. (only country to have a presumption of legality) It is why I said by treaty.
UK is in danger of being bumped from the program because they have not upped their machine readable passports.

I think the best new line of attack on this issue would be to concentrate on how many jobs we've lost from 'outsourcing', exporting. Focus on the companies and boycott them , email them, print out the list of 300+ companies and notify your neighborhood, friends and families.
Go to near bottom of page you will be astounded at the list!

I think the point is that you have to start piling up the disincentives for illegal immigration.
Right now, all the incentives are for people to "come on down." Whether it is social services, education, drivers' licenses, or whatever, it encourages more illegal immigration.
The whole system is broken on both sides of the border. There will never be an incentive to get the government to do something about it until you take the incentives out and make it less attractive to be here illegally.
At least Kaloogian is having constructive ideas, instead of promising to study it into the stone age like some unnamed candidate keeps proposing!

This may come as a surprise to you, but I really dont have a problem with "outsourcing".
I think the consumer has the right of full disclosure, ie I have the right to know my bank or insurance company uses foreign workers in foreign countries to process my personal records, but other than disclosure, I dont see a problem.
I do see a major problem with illegal aliens and importing slave laborers and inventing a second-class non-citizen work force into the USA for employer labor exploitation and the subversion of the free market rules of capitolism.
Big Unions suck, because they expanded and greedily extended their original reason to exist in the first place, after the battle was won.
I think we are courting total anarchy.
Ethics and honesty are no longer considered normal, valuable and desirable traits in normal human interactions.

Every dollar an illegal "earns" is directly stolen from some American citizen or LEGAL immigrant.
Bull."
Every dollar paid to an Illegalien has to be supplemented with taxpayer funded assistance to workers, legal and illegal, whose wages don't offer basic financial support.
It's estimated that roughly 8-12 million Illegaliens COST taxpayers some $40 billion annually. That's the equivalent of YOU and ME handing THEM about $4000 a year.

You are the first to nail it. The problem is not, I repeat, NOT illegal aliens, oops, undocumented visitors, sending money out of the country. The problem is illegal aliens, and a porous border, and the US Government that thinks it is impossible to close the holes in those borders. Until that thinking changes and hopefully before we are overrun, we will continue to wrestle with this national disgrace.

So American should just throw in the towel? Nothing will ever work?Deportations will work. Fining employers will work. Ending welfare to illegals wil work.
But inserting wire transfer companies into the middle of the problem won't, for the reasons I gave previously.

Its a standoff, but in the arena of ideas, I'm with you on this one. Our government is allowing the mexican mafia to skim the cream off our economy, and build an empire that will ultimately crush us if we don't get a handle on it. Tongue in cheek on the mafia, but in essence that is what is happening. To give up and say they can't control the borders or those already here, is not the answer any right thinking person is looking for. No habla espanol.

Your comment that, "Every dollar an illegal "earns" is directly stolen from some American citizen or LEGAL immigrant" is so wrong that the only thing that will help you is an Econ 101 class.

How many here wish to here what God has to say ? If some of you folks are wondering what might motivate Bush to take such an "unconservative posistion" on illegal aliens, it might be because he is following God in the matter.
Lev19:33 " 'When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. 34 The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

?"Your comment that, "Every dollar an illegal "earns" is directly stolen from some American citizen or LEGAL immigrant" is so wrong that the only thing that will help you is an Econ 101 class." ILLEGAL aliens come here and occupy jobs that WOULD be done by American citizens or LEGAL immigrants. Every dollar that goes to them in pay is a dollar that doesn't go to the other two groups. Explain to me how that isn't theft. And don't give me that crap about Americans "wouldn't do those jobs"---they would.
To: VRWC_minion
Exodus says to have one law for the native-born and strangers, to require of them to assimilate - or forsake their native-born ways and lands. Most Illegaliens are not interested in doing that. The Illegalien is, foremost, a law-breaker - without exception, and should be first, treated as such. One law for the native-born and the stranger....

Oh, and BTW, it's not any compassionate measure President Bush has for Illegaliens that has him proposing this garbage of "not amnesty". Compassion has very little - if anything - to do with it. It's his monitary ties with the felons who "turn a profit" by hiring and aiding Illegaliens. That's what compells him to propose something/anything that could possibly help them avoid prosecution.
