HOWARD KALOOGIANS NEW IMMIGRATION PROPOSAL:
No Wire Transfers from Illegal Aliens To Foreign Countries
(LOS ANGELES) Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Howard Kaloogian (website: www.HowardForSenate.com) is releasing a new immigration proposal today, which is designed to remove an incentive for illegal immigration and increase national security.
When elected to the U.S. Senate, Kaloogian will introduce legislation that will require any individual who electronically transmits money to a foreign country to be in the United States legally. Before funds can be transferred to another country, the sender must establish their identity with proper identification, such as both a valid Social Security number and a drivers license.
Eliminating Another Incentive for Illegal Immigration Into the United States.
The Kaloogian proposal will remove a current incentive for illegal immigration in the U.S. Millions of illegal immigrants who have entered this country illegally regularly wire money to friends, family members and associates in their countries of origin.
Last year more than $30 billion was sent from immigrants in the United States many of them here illegally to Mexico and Latin America alone. Seventy percent of these remittances are sent via wire services offered at thousands of locations throughout the United States. These remittances now comprise a significant portion of the gross domestic product of many Latin American countries. Mexican President Vincente Fox is among those who is advocating for amnesty for illegal immigrants currently in the United States so as to guarantee that these transferred funds continue to prop up the Mexican economy after years of abuse. If we are to stem the flow of illegal immigration into this country, we have to remove the incentives that reward those who break the law. We have to provide more disincentives as a means, in addition to stricter border control, to curtail illegal immigration.
Just as amnesty and drivers licenses for illegal aliens is wrong, so too is allowing these individuals to enter this nation illegally, collect wages illegally, and then send these funds to a foreign nation.
The problem with amnesty, drivers licenses and taxpayer funded government services for illegal immigrants is that they reward those who break the law and enter this nation illegally. These enticements provide additional incentives for illegal immigration into the U.S. said Kaloogian.
The only way to reverse this avalanche of illegal immigration is to eliminate these incentives, Kaloogian added.
One of the benefits of this new policy will be to establish leverage with leaders, such as Mexicos Vincente Fox, who have sent a wink and a nod to their citizens to enter the United States illegally, collect wages that are up to ten times as high as those paid in Mexico, and then send these funds back to Mexico.
This money is not being invested in America, expanding wealth for our own communities, but instead enriching foreign governments who have done nothing to discourage illegal immigration into the United States. In fact, they have every reason to encourage it, said Kaloogian.
Proposal Will Help in the War on Terrorism
Kaloogian pointed out that his proposal will also help in the war on terrorism by making it more difficult for those who are in this country illegally to send money to terrorist cells and operatives outside of the country.
Terrorists have been using networks that rely on wire transfers, couriers and overnight mail to send money home and vice versa. Osama bin Laden has boasted about the way he and his colleagues are using wire services to send money back and forth from the U.S. to operatives around the world, said Kaloogian.
We cannot allow terrorists to game our financial system to their advantage in their efforts to attack our nation and its people, Kaloogian concluded.
Help me with the math then.
As a reminder, you will be proving that, "Every dollar paid to an Illegalien has to be supplemented with taxpayer funded assistance to workers, legal and illegal, whose wages don't offer basic financial support."
Your humbled student,
TankerKC
Yes, it is one law which imposes some selected duties on aliens. The include not eating blood, following sexual bans, not eating something strangled. The ONE law clearly states which laws apply to aliens and which don't.
Biblically, we are to treat the alien as well as we treat ourselves. In fact, Jesus confirmed this when he taught us who are neighbors are.
In short folks are hypocrits when they insist on a biblical view of marriage and homosexuality and they don't also insist on a biblical view of the treatment on aliens. The only one consistant in this is Bush.
I know. He claims to follow Jesus who taught that we treat our neighbors as ourselves.
Christianity is a hard thing to follow and Bush seems committed to following it even when its unpopular.
Or jobs that would be automated or go undone.
Every dollar that goes to them in pay is a dollar that doesn't go to the other two groups. Explain to me how that isn't theft.
It is not theft because it is money an American worker never had for work he never did. It might be undesirable and sad, but it isn't theft.
I hear that when I cash a check at the bank, apply for a job, or rent an apartment
What an asinine thing to say.
Cute, real cute.

What about introducing legislation making it illegal to cross the border illegally?
What about introducing legislation making it illegal to hire illegal aliens?
What about introducing legislation making it illegal to grant welfare benefits to illegal aliens?
That's right. Go and enforce our current laws before you further restrict American freedoms.
Btw, last time I checked in South Florida, a spanking brand-new social security card can be purchased for $35, and a spanking brand-new Driver's License can purchased for $55. There is a guy outside convenience stores that collect the money and make arrangements for the purchaser to have his picture taken. The black marketers even own the same machines used by the state offices, so the documents are impossible to detect as forgeries.
In LA the prices are a little bit higher, but in California the fake driver's licenses can be obtained both plain and deluxe. The "deluxe" fake driver's license is input into the system, so even a cop who double-check through his computer will be fool by a "deluxe" fake driver's license.
Give me break, Mr. Kaloogian. Enforce our current laws if there is political will. Otherwise, accept the status quo or reform our immigration laws to make it easier for foreigners to enter the US legally.
He's pushing the debate forward by saying: NO MORE INCENTIVES TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
He's a co=sponsor of the Save Prop 187 initiative, has the endorsement of Tom Tancredo, Chairman of the Congressional Caucus on Immigration Reform and knows that besides fighting for secure borders we have to address WHY it is that Vincente Fox and others keep pushing illegal aliens into this country... to get the money they send back to Mexico.
You need to reread his proposal because your rhetoric is off. Seriously.
"That's right. Go and enforce our current laws before you further restrict American freedoms."
What "American freedoms" are protected for ILLEGAL ALIENS.
The issue isn't anything to do with Americans - it is foreign nationals here ILLEGALLY.
But not as crazy as this thread. I swear half the people here go off on rants before reading a word.
Those must be the Bill Jones supporters ;)
Which part of "enforce our current laws before you make new laws" you did not understand?
Which part of "As an American, I don't have to show my ID to wire money" you did not understand?
I'm not going to vote for anyone who wants to pass more laws to restrict the freedom of American citizens because our current laws are not being enforced.
Kaloogian is a maroon.
I agree. So why, if we may politely ask, did you do it again yourself in post # 106?
That's fine only if it were true. If for some reason WE forge federal documents and knowingly attempt their use, how should we expect to be treated if we're caught? We do try to prosecute criminals, but we don't advocate their mistreatment. Those who present counterfeit documents to obtain taxpayer-funded assistance are committing crimes no less fraudulent or severe than someone printing their own Jacksons, Hamiltons, or Bennies and passing them off.
Or should we demand less of the alien than of ourselves?
President Bush is following his committment only because of whom it is popular with.
That's the frustration.
There has been no greater advocate for tougher border enforcement in California the last ten years than Kaloogian.
Illegal aliens have no right to American freedoms. They've broken the law and entered this nation illegally.
Until we address the MONEY side of the equation, the politicians will continue to look the other way. So when the Kaloogian's in the Senate vote "AYE" on increasing funding for the border patrol with more agents and tighter security measures, the rest of the politicos will be voting NO.
Kaloogian's a hero to the immigration reform movement, and the leaders in the effort have worked with him for 10 years on these problems.
You need to read up on this more, my friend.
Apparently, you think that its OK to introduce a new law asking American citizens to show a drivers license and a social security card before they exercise their right to wire money overseas. Of course, the illegal aliens will either use surrogates, fake documents, or black market channels to continue sending money home. In the mean time, American citizens will have to give up another right.
Just like the War on [some] Drugs. When the Republican legislature and Jeb Bush gave us our current draconian doctor shopping laws in Florida, they told us that those laws were meant for drug dealers, not average citizens. Now we have Rush Limbaugh spending thousands of dollars (probably millions before the whole mess is over) to pay a gaggle of attorneys. Rush Limbaugh is being investigated under the doctor shopping laws.
Some people cannot see the foolishness of enacting new laws when current laws are sufficient to deal with the problem at hand. Lack of willingness to enforce current laws is not a good reason to enact a new law.
Does forging doc's get a citizen evicted ?
President Bush is following his committment only because of whom it is popular with.
Lucky for him its a stand he can see as being right with God's laws and appeal at the same time to new voters. Isn't it wondeful how obeying God has positive effects just like God promises ?
As a person who is a licensed broker, the requirement to have ID for any transactions is already the law.
Almost missed that. God required much less of aliens than he did of the people of Israel starting with foreskin and working from there.
