I Saw Hillary On The Freeway (What is up with that enormous motorcade?)

Last night around 7:30 pm PST, I was traveling in the fast lane on the southbound 405 freeway in Los Angeles, between Westwood and the airport, when I noticed no traffic in the two fastest lanes coming at me on the opposite side of the freeway. (I believe it's a 5-lane highway, for those who don't know that freeway.) I thought there must be a horrible accident up ahead.

Then I saw a bunch of motorcycle cops in both those lanes, deliberately going quite slowly. It looked like an OJ-style slow chase. As I traveled I saw many, many motorcycle cops, at least 16 or so, about 4 police cars, then a small limousine or sedan, then a couple of SUVs. Thereafter a huge backed up freeway was behind all this.

"That's a motorcade!" I said to my oldest son beside me. "However, it couldn't be the President, as he isn't out here, and also they always have more limos of the longer variety in the motorcade." I have seen a presidential motorcade once before, on the same freeway, with flags on the limos and everything. I don't even remember now which president it was.

I wondered aloud if it could be our Governor Arnold, musing that the people of L.A. would start to hate him if he blocked up the city's traffic every time he went to or fro. I didn't think he would do that, as he has been an L.A. driver for decades and would know the resentment that would bring.

Not until this morning did I find out who it was. As I heard the morning news, a report caught my ear: Hillary Clinton gave a dinner speech last night in Newport Beach, south of L.A., and was due to speak somewhere in the L.A. area today.

It HAD to be her.

Now, what did she do, add her senatorial security allowance to that given to a Former First Lady? You cannot tell me that every senator blocks two lanes of traffic everywhere he/she goes! And does Betty Ford travel everywhere in a huge motorcade? What gives? That was a LOT of police on duty.

I'd be interested to hear how she travels in New York, if any FReeper has seen HRH parading down the streets. Maybe in NYC she even has elephants and a guy on stilts?

Can't say about NYC, or how it is done today, but back when Bill was still President, her broom would land at the Westchester County (White Plains) Airport, and the local police would block the roads and stop all traffic between there and Chappaqua a full 30 minutes before the motorcade carrying her highness passed by.

The real limo libs stick to one limo or even a little electric car. No movie star commands TWO LANES of traffic on the 405 at rush hour, believe me. They are a dime a dozen out here (worth somewhat magnified for clarity).

Actually, we were in NYC a few years ago and saw how her impending arrival had an entire city block all tied up. A lane was blocked off just so her caravan of gas guzzling, evil SUVs and limos could pull to the curb, as it would be unseemly for the Queen to have to step onto the street like a commoner.

Hillary has a huge motorcade need. She is quite aware that there are millions who hate her and despise everything she stands for, and she thinks they want to kill her.

In reality, nobody who hates her wants her killed. She's quite safe, to spend the rest of her life off the A list, to live in filthy clothes with skanky hair and perceptible body odor, with halitosis and her disgusting secret yearnings for power over men and young, nubile women.

The PIAPS is safe. It's just that no one likes her. She has the motorcade to dramatize herself into Poor Pitiful Pearl, when in reality she is the Bag Lady of the dem party, right in there with Helen Thomas.

I saw Bill's motorcade in NYC, heading for the heliport by the South Street Seaport.

There was about eighty police motorcycles and a bunch of limos. A couple of the limos had black windows and had eight motorcycles enclosing them. I assume this is where Billy was.

The funniest part was - just before he came through, a totally unprotected limo came through with clear windows and a half-assed Clinton look-alike sitting in there waving to the crowd and laughing.

It was all very Saddamish, but the dingbats in the crowd all that they had just seen the president.
