Is it just me, or was that jackass judge ignoring the obvious when he failed to uphold California law, there-by allowing still more marriage certificates to be issued. Why didn't he haul the mayor and other city officials into court to answer for their b.S. tactics? That is his duty you know. He is to uphold the law.

He "encourages" SF to obey the law???

Is he the governor or what? Would he be so sanguine if the mayor decreed that he wasn't sending any tax money to Sacramento because he didn't believe in it?
No wonder SF is still defiant. No one has the stones to smack them down.

Fornicalia (er, California) based Freepers might want to head down there and get some of these. When this flap is over they will fetch a pretty penny on eBay. Hey JimRob why don't you and John go down there too... the law doesn't forbid brother and brother, only brother and sister... think of the stuff for FR you can get with what this will sell for on eBay.....

(OK, before I get banned for this, tongue SLIGHTLY in cheek...:-)

A small group of conservatives, one a lawyer, needs to take action.

First, a group of say five, needs to go in and demand a license for their "marriage".

Next, a guy needs to go in and demand a license to "marry" his dog.

Third, another conservative needs to enter and demand a license to "marry" his car.

Then the lawyer needs to file a twelve gazillion dollar suit against the city clerk and the mayor if the licenses are not granted, or hold a press conference with his clients if they are. If homosexuals have the right to redefine the thousands of years old institution of marriage, there is absolutely no reason why it should stop at "two" or at "persons".

The homosexuals pushing this need to be shown up for the lunatics that they are.

I haven't even read any posts yet.

So... how are the people who were jumping all over the Governor for NOT reponding (i.e. doing the AG's job) now going to tell us that this is an evil, terrible response?

Because you know they will.

(Unless they do their other thing -- pretend it didn't happen.)

Does anyone else see the similarity between the Mayor of SF and the 10 Commandment Judge Moore. They both seem to think their morals are above the law & both are wrong.

I would love to see a mayor in another California city, even a small city, start issuing Concealed Carry Weapons permits to anyone applying... Or how about disobey the no-smoking laws? Then we would see everyone, especially the liberal media, calling for that mayor's arrest.

Where's a ballsy mayor when we need one. The precedent for anarchy has been set by Arnie's refusal to take action..

Let's give them a taste of conservative-bent anarchy!

If Schwarzenegger won't support the law, why should anyone vote for the upcoming bond issue? The best way to get Governments attention is to financially starve it.

I just emailed the following to the governator.

I urge you to put a stop to the blatant law breaking (gay marriages) that is ongoing in San Francisco by people sworn to uphold the law.

This is not a question of civil rights - but it is very much a question of respecting the law. Regardless of how one feels about gay marriage, they are breaking the law. Thus, they should face the same consequences as any other law breaker. Arrest them and then let the judicial system decide.

If they want to practice civil disobedience they should pay the cost. Dr. Martin Luther King and Ghandi, both spent time in the cooler for their convictions.

Simply ignoring it only encourages and emboldens future lawbreakers, frustrating the will of the people, leading to more bitterness, disrespect for the law and anarchy.

Please, forget the political calculations, do what you know must be done. (And if you must calculate - you would come out way ahead if you enforced the law. Imagine Reagan in your shoes, what do you think he would do?)

I urge other freepers to do the same. Maybe he needs to see which way the wind is blowing to develop some balls.
