Is Cheney ready to do what's got to be done in this election campaign?

My personal opinion is that this is going to be the nastiest Presidential race since the 19th Century, and I think that Cheney does not have the personality to go toe to toe with Kerry and his number two. I think that Guiliani would be a better choice. Guiliani is too liberal for my tastes, but on the other hand, he might be able to deliver NY, and he is certainly the kind of guy who could sling mud with Kerry. I don't think it would be smart for Bush to wade too deep into the mire, and Cheney's too easy going to do it.

Dammit. I've been having computer problems all day. Hence the double posts. Please change "His brilliance has faded" to "HASN'T faded".

And I will go find a new computer.

Is Ann old enough? (The Vice President must be at least 35, same as the President.)

Terrible idea. Pro-abort VP is about the only way I can think of that Bush could put his presidency in genuine risk right now.

Comments?

Oh, yeah. Though I haven't read the replies, I'm sure the vast majority will assure you that Cheney can take on any competition with one hand tied behind his back.

I'm only sorry he isn't in line to succeed Bush in '08.

Cheney is quick on his feet and SMART! Kerry doesn't know what to believe from one moment to the next...nor does any other democrat. The resumes:

President George W. Bush: Received a bachelors degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He served as an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard. He began his career in the oil and gas business in Midland in 1975 and worked in the energy industry until 1986. He was elected governor on November 8, 1994, with 53.5 percent of the vote. In a historic reelection victory, he became the first Texas governor to be elected to consecutive four-year terms on November 3, 1998, winning 68.6 percent of the vote.

Vice President Dick Cheney earned a B.A. in 1965 and a M.A. in 1966, both in political science. Two years later, he won an American Political Science Association congressional fellowship. One of Vice President Cheney's primary duties is to share with individuals, members of Congress, and foreign leaders, President Bush's vision to strengthen our economy, secure our homeland, and win the War on Terrorism. In his official role as president of the Senate, Vice President Cheney regularly goes to Capitol Hill to meet with senators and members of the House of Representatives to work on the administration's legislative goals.

Kerry's Bio: He has a B.A. from Yale. He was in Vietnam. He became a lawyer...nuff said.

Al Qaeda and Kim Jong-Il and Mr Khatemi would also like to see a more robust man on the Bush ticket than Cheney. They are disgusted by Cheney's fecklessness and intellectual vacuum in which he operates, wouldn't you agree?

Cheney is tough and, dare I say, "brilliant." I'm glad President Bush named him as his Vice President and running mate for 2004. What's got you so skeered---or are you just trying for even more division?

Condi is great but she brings nothing to the VP table. Cheyney will destroy whoever the Dems bring up. If for some health reason he had to step down, I would suggest Powell, especially after the beating he gave that congressman.

We need to quit believing the " Powell is some misunderstood outcast" crap the media is feeding us. Powell is a General and a warrior. He also is the good cop. Hey, everyone wants to kiss his ass, he could be pres in 08, and he has the Cheyney-like ability to be calm and cool while still cutting you up.

Cheyney 1st, Powell if Cheyney cant. Remember, Bush picked Cheyney because he is good, not to win Wyoming or the mountain states. Thats why Bush picks all his cabinet.

Clinton knows how to win elections. So does George W. Bush.

While I agree, I continue to pray for President Bush and our country on a daily basis that we will be graced with another 4 years of Bush leadership.

The only "brilliance" in the suggestion probably came from seepage into the brain.

You must've fallen down and are bleeding. I'll call the ambulance for you if you need help. LMAO! I listened to Cheney calmly and effectively berate Joe Ho-Dad on National TV. Please read the transcript if you didn't watch the whole thing,O.K.? The last 10 minutes were classic Cheney. It was Dick Cheney who went to Davos in January of 2004 and addressed the world's Elite at 'The World Economic Forum' a few weeks ago. If I may make a suggestion: Please read a few of the speeches Dick Cheney has been giving throughout the world for the last 3 years here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/vicepresident/news-speeches/index.html
and then if you are inclined to not change your mind regarding the strengths of this man, (who represents the Presidents' view wherever he appears and speaks) you may choose to live in whatever world you want. (No offense meant either)
