ICDC, TASK FORCE ALL AMERICAN SECURE AL ANBAR

AR RAMADI, Iraq - The Iraqi Civil Defense Corps forces conducted 15 independent patrols Monday while Task Force All American conducted 273 patrols, including 15 joint patrols, and executed one offensive operation.

Task Force All American had three contacts with the enemy since Sunday night –two complex attacks and one small arms fire attack while clearing three caches. The task force captured seven enemy personnel.

On Sunday, 5,024 people and 150 buses crossed back into Iraq at the Ar Ar Iraqi border checkpoint as they returned from the Hajj. To date, 29,698 people have returned from Saudi Arabia through this area and an estimated 1,000 additional pilgrims are waiting for transportation near Ar Ar in Saudi Arabia.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Sunday in 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment’s area of operations, soldiers conducted a cordon and search near Sadah, in the Al Qa’im region, to kill or capture Hassim Misyet and Abu Abdullah. Four enemy personnel, including the two primary targets, were captured.

AL ANBAR RECEIVES FUNDING FOR INFASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

AR RAMADI, Iraq - Rural communities located near here received more than $104,000 for two water enhancement projects Saturday. One of the projects will provide a source of fresh water to approximately 30,000 residents and will employ 150 people.

Additional funding was also approved to emplace highway checkpoints outside Haswah, Lutifiyah, Iskandariah, and Eskan. The checkpoints will support the efforts of the Iraqi Security Forces in the Northern Babil Province. Civil affairs personnel working with 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division supported this effort with a payment of $13,000 from the Commander’s Emergency Relief Program.

Funds were also approved to build a new addition to the Iraqi Civil Defense Corps office in Rutba. Specifically, the addition will house firearms. Rutba now has a fully trained, equipped and manned company of ICDC.

Good! The ICDC is proving it's worth. They really are starting to do a spectacular job and showing quite a bit of bravery. It's good to see the Iraqi people beginning to discover the strength within themselves.
